We're breaking down the 2024 PGA Championship odds from our best golf betting sites as the second major of the year will return to Valhalla Golf Club in mid-May with Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Jon Rahm as consensus betting favorites.

The PGA Championship comes back to Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky., in 2024 for the first time since Rory McIlroy's victory in 2014.

McIlroy's most recent major victory was the 2014 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club. If he doesn't pull through on his Masters odds as one of the favorites, expectations will be sky-high for his major drought to end with the second major of 2024.

Joining McIlroy among the favorites are Scottie Scheffler and reigning Masters champion Jon Rahm. Defending PGA Champion Brooks Koepka lurks not too far behind. Meanwhile, Wyndham Clark and Brian Harman - winners of the 2023 U.S. Open and British Open, respectively - remain sizable long shots.

Scheffler, McIlroy, and Rahm occupy spots Nos. 1 through 3, respectively, in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). Viktor Hovland - No. 4 in the OWGR - is fourth on the oddsboard following his 2023 FedEx Cup win.

Koepka, who won his fifth career major at Oak Hill Country Club in 2023, is fifth on the 2024 PGA Championship futures oddsboard as the reigning champ.

Here are the best PGA Championship odds for 2024 (odds via our best sports betting sites).

Favorite for the PGA Championship 2024

Scottie Scheffler (+900 via FanDuel)

Scheffler has created some separation between himself and Rahm and McIlroy as the favorites at most of our best sports betting apps. We're seeing some nice value in this early price from FanDuel with BetMGM already down to a market-low offering of +750 for the No. 1 player in the OWGR.

Bettors can get a +110 ticket on a top-10 finish from Scheffler in the PGA Championship via bet365. Don't expect that plus money to be there by mid-May.

PGA Championship odds 2024: Contender

Ludvig Aberg (+2800 via Caesars)

Aberg, 24, hasn't yet competed in a major but he has one PGA Tour victory and another playoff loss. He also starred for Team Europe as a captain's pick in the 2023 Ryder Cup.

He's a fan favorite and 11th in the OWGR, and our best sportsbooks are recognizing that hype - and his skill. These +2800 odds from Caesars carry plenty of value with bet365 offering much shorter odds of +1400 on the Swedish star.

PGA Championship odds 2024: Long shot

Wyndham Clark (+7500 via FanDuel)

Clark, currently seventh in the OWGR, hasn't looked back since claiming his fist PGA Tour victory in the Wells Fargo Championship last May. He went on to win the U.S. Open and followed that with a victory in the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a weather-shortened Signature Event.

I've highlighted value on Clark in the FedEx Cup odds, and this lingering outlier price from FanDuel also warrants action. Caesars is offering odds as low as +2200.

PGA Championship odds 2024: Fade

Jordan Spieth (+3300 via BetMGM)

Though it was only his second career appearance in the PGA Championship, Spieth missed the cut at plus-6 at Valhalla in 2014. He was the runner-up in the 2015 PGA Championship and had a T-3 finish in the 2019 event, but those are his only top-10 finishes in 11 attempts. He finished T-29 last year after a T-4 finish in the Masters.

Spieth, 13th in the OWGR at the end of February, tied for sixth in the WM Phoenix Open but was disqualified from the Genesis Invitational due to an incorrect scorecard. That can't be held against him, but we haven't yet seen enough from him in 2024 to warrant a wager against the world's best.

Tiger Woods' PGA Championship odds

+12500 via Caesars

Woods opened at +10000 to win the 2024 PGA Championship via DraftKings. Following a T-45 finish in The Genesis Invitational last year, he was forced to withdraw from the Masters due to an injury after making the cut. He then proceeded to withdraw from the final three majors of 2023.

Woods' 2024 season hasn't started any better, as he had to withdraw from the Genesis Invitational. These odds won't become any worse by mid-May, so there's no need to rush out for this bet.

PGA Championship odds movement

There have been several notable shifts in the early PGA Championship odds since last summer. Rahm's odds have lengthened slightly following his announced departure from the PGA Tour. Expect that to be the case as LIV Golf remains out of the public eye. We've already seen odds grow for Koepka through the winter months.

Aberg has flown up this oddsboard and even has odds as short as +1400 to win the PGA Championship via bet365 despite never having played in a major.

PGA Championship betting analysis

With the PGA Championship being the second major of 2024, this betting market is much slower to move than the Masters odds.

We're also seeing a wider range of variation in the odds than what we see in the Masters odds. All but two of the 11 names on our oddsboard have a singular standalone best price available. Eight of the 11 have a market-worst odds offering to avoid by shopping around. It's particularly odd to see market-best and market-worst prices for each of the top three favorites.

Bettors are advised to keep a close eye on this market for major discrepancies in the odds between the year's first and second majors. Try to catch the slowest-moving books in the immediate aftermath of the Masters.
