Masters Odds 2023: Scheffler Holds Slightest Edge Over McIlroy, Rahm as Favorite

Reigning champion Scottie Scheffler is the consensus Masters favorite following his wins at the WM Phoenix Open and The Players Championship. Read on for our look at the best 2023 Masters odds.
The 2023 Masters Tournament is one week away with the winner of this week's Valero Texas Open getting the last invitation (if not already exempt). World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy (2), and Jon Rahm (3) are the consensus favorites each with odds ranging from +700 to +850 across our best sportsbooks.
Of course, that's no surprise as they rank 1-3, respectively, in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). But will this finally be the year McIlroy or Rahm claim their first green jacket? Or is Scheffler set to repeat as the best golfer in the world?
Read on as we preview the 2023 Masters odds among the favorites, contenders, and long shots (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, and PointsBet).

Masters odds analysis
FanDuel is offering the most competitive Masters odds among our best sportsbooks, including the market-high of +850 for Rahm after his early exit from the WGC-Match Play. The top three golfers in the world rankings are all priced shorter than +1000 across our top sports betting sites. Three of the top five books are aligned on the pricing for Scheffler and McIlroy as co-favorites.
Masters odds movement
Rahm and Scheffler opened as co-favorites for the 2023 Masters immediately after last year's tournament. While McIlroy took pole position to open the 2023 calendar year in the wake of his victory at the Tour Championship, Rahm and Scheffler's hot starts to 2023 moved them back ahead by the consensus odds until McIlroy's strong third-place finish in the WGC-Match Play.
There was a fair bit of Masters odds movement in the aftermath of the Match Play. Jason Day, who lost to Scheffler in the quarterfinals, was among the biggest movers and now has odds as low as +2000 to win the Masters. Sam Burns has Masters odds ranging from +2500 to +4000 after winning the Match Play and the $3.5 million first place prize.
Meanwhile, Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, and Brooks Koepka have seen their odds steadily rise over the past year after joining the LIV Golf Invitational Series at different times and fading from the spotlight.
Tiger Woods' Masters odds opened around +5000 and have held relatively steady; however, BetMGM's market-low odds of +4000 shouldn't be touched by bettors.
Masters odds 2023: Favorite
Rory McIlroy (+850)

McIlroy's continued chase for the career grand slam and his position in the OWGR will have him a popular bet once again at Augusta National. The time to strike may be now on the early Masters odds with Rahm and Scheffler both displaying the superior form in 2023 and helping make McIlroy a moderate value play. The Masters is the start of the golf season for casual fans so expect that late influx of betting handle to force the books to drop McIlroy's odds.
Masters odds 2023: Contender
Collin Morikawa (+2400)
Morikawa finished alone in fifth in the 2022 Masters with a final round of 5-under par 72. He then opened at around +1800 by the 2023 Masters odds but that price point has ticked up for the two-time major winner. Morikawa remains 11th in the OWGR and already has three top-10 finishes this year. FanDuel is offering the best price on Morikawa with his Masters odds increasing following the Match Play.
Masters odds 2023: Long shot
Tom Kim (+7500)
Kim will make his debut at the Masters already as a two-time winner on the PGA Tour. While the Top Debutant market is where I'll be placing my largest bet on him as we await the 2023 Masters props, I'm also making sure to get a piece of this +7500 available at FanDuel. Kim is priced as low as +2500 to win the Masters via Caesars.
Masters odds 2023: Fade
Max Homa (+3200)
Homa may be the hottest golfer in the world right now, outside of Scheffler and Rahm. The Californian has soared from No. 17 to No. 6 in the OWGR with a victory, a runner-up finish, and two other top-10 showings this year. However, Homa missed the cut in two of his first three appearances in the Masters with a T-48 showing last year. His T-13 finish in last year's PGA Championship is his best result to date in a major.
Masters odds 2023: Tiger Woods (+5500)
The most popular golfer in the Masters field carries odds as low as +4000 via BetMGM. That's further indication that this hanging +5500 via DraftKings is likely to drop as Masters week approaches. It's never a bad idea to get ahead of the bet everyone's going to want to have in their pocket, even though we're never going to get fair value for the now-983rd-ranked golfer in the world.
