The final week in the NFL preseason begins tonight when the New York Giants host the New England Patriots, with two undefeated squads clashing. My Patriots vs. Giants prediction examines which team will end the preseason with a flawless record.

As you stay on top of our NFL preseason Week 3 predictions, it’s critical to remember these games are about player evaluation, not winning, so make your bets accordingly.

Kickoff from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., is set for 8 p.m. ET (Prime Video). If you're looking for some earlier action, our Gary Pearson has that covered with his Steelers vs. Panthers prediction.

The preseason often comes down to the better player under center, and New York’s four-deep depth chart is quite deep. Russell Wilson, Jaxson Dart, Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito can all move the ball effectively, and that’s helped the Giants win and cover in both preseason games thus far.

On the other side of things, we’ve got a New England Patriots team that has seen plenty of sophomore quarterback Drake Maye and rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson so far. While Maye should get a drive or two, Coach Mike Vrabel probably is more concerned with parsing out the bottom of the depth chart.

Behind Maye, the Patriots have Joshua Dobbs and Ben Wooldridge. Dobbs struggled in Week 1 before looking solid in Week 2, while Wooldridge excelled in Week 1 before struggling in Week 2. The Pats don’t have a third-string option, and I trust New York’s deeper and more consistent quarterback room to win and cover again.

These teams have scored plenty of points in the preseason with the Patriots tallying 68 to the Giants’ 65. While a slim majority of New England’s points have come in the first half (41), they’ve also held their opponents to six total first-half points. Meanwhile, the Giants have scored just 23 of their points in the first half while holding opponents to 16 points.

The total for this contest is inverted – instead of favoring scoring in the second half, the books have the first-half total at 20.5 versus the full-game total of 37.5. That just doesn’t reflect what we’ve seen from these teams through two preseason games. Look for the defenses to show out early and limit scoring in the final warm-up game of the year.
