First Touchdown Scorer Predictions for Monday Night Football Week 7

Can Chris Godwin reach the end zone first against the Ravens in what's expected to be a high-scoring game?

Two 4-2 teams close out Week 7, with each trying to stay atop its division. Who will help their squad get to five wins with an early score?

This week’s first touchdown scorer predictions for Monday Night Football target two players who put points on the board in bunches for their organizations.

The first touchdown of the game may come down to who holds the ball first in a contest that the Monday Night Football odds show will likely be high-scoring. Both the Baltimore Ravens and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have crossed the goal line first in four of their six contests.

With that in mind, I'm turning my attention to the central figure in the Baltimore rushing attack, and the leader of the Tampa Bay receiving corps as potential players to log the first score on Monday night.

Mike Spector believes the Bucs can cover as part of his Ravens vs. Buccaneers prediction. But the Ravens enter Monday as the second-ranked team in the Super Bowl odds.

Henry has been the first player to find the end zone in each of his last three games. He's also put the first points on the board in four out of six matchups.

The former Tennessee Titans bruiser has crossed the goal line nine times with his new team. His eight rushing touchdowns put him in a tie for the league lead.

As he did in Tennessee, Henry is shouldering the load on the ground and is responsible for 57% of the 209 total carries in Baltimore. He's been dangerous in the red zone too, earning 16 of the 18 rushing attempts inside the 20 for the team at the running back position.

The Ravens lead the league in rushing attempts per game (34.8) and are facing a Buccaneers defense allowing the third-highest percentage of rushing touchdowns (53.3%).

Phil Wood is also backing this pick as part of his Ravens vs. Buccaneers MNF player prop bets, as is Gary Pearson in his Derrick Henry anytime TD odds & picks.

Tampa Bay has crossed the goal line first in four of its six games this season. Godwin is responsible for two of those scores.

The pass-catcher was the first player to find the end zone during the Buccaneers' contest against the New Orleans Saints last week. He went on to score again in the third quarter for good measure.

The long-tenured Bucs receiver leads his team in targets (53) and yards (511). His six red-zone targets put him behind only Mike Evans (seven) in that category.

Now Godwin is up against a Ravens defense giving up the fourth-most passing touchdowns per game this season (1.8). That number has jumped to 2.3 over their last three games.

I could have gone with Evans here, as he's responsible for the two other Tampa Bay first touchdowns. His best odds are +900 on FanDuel, so I decided to take the better number for what is essentially a coin flip.
