D'Angelo Russell will be searching for a big payday this offseason, but which NBA team will give it to him? Let's take a look at the best NBA odds for Russell's next team to find out.

As a bit of an NBA nomad, Russell has played for four different teams since joining the league in 2015-16. In fact, his most recent stop with the Los Angeles Lakers was a reunion after he started his NBA career by playing there for the first two seasons.

Russell's reunion with the Lakers went well, as the team made it all the way to the Western Conference finals after it traded for him at the deadline. His showing in the WCF left a lot to be desired, however, and it now remains to be seen if the Lakers will bring him back.

If Russell does hit free agency, the 26-year-old point guard will be looking for a solid contract. He has yet to spend more than 3 1/2 seasons with a team, so he could be seeking some stability at his next step.

We can agree this market doesn't make a ton of sense, right?

The Charlotte Hornets are the favorites to land Russell, but it is hard to imagine there being much of a fit. The Hornets already have LaMelo Ball running the show, and they have a good chance of drafting Scoot Henderson with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

The Atlanta Hawks also have a crowded backcourt with Trae Young and Dejounte Murray leading the way. The Memphis Grizzlies might need some Ja Morant insurance, but Russell's price tag seems too high for a backup point guard.

So we are betting on the Dallas Mavericks by default here, as they should be priced as the favorites in this market. Kyrie Irving is likely to come back, but we can probably assume that he is heading to Los Angeles if he doesn't re-sign with the Mavericks.

The Mavs have reportedly said they won't do a sign-and-trade for Russell, but I have a hard time believing they'd let Irving walk for nothing after letting Jalen Brunson do just that last summer. If Irving forces his way onto the Lakers, we expect the Mavericks to replace him with Russell at the point guard position.

Dallas could do a lot worse than having a player like Russell to complement Luka Doncic. Russell averaged 17.8 points and 6.2 assists per game last season, while playing in 65-plus contests in each of the last three seasons. Russell has limitations on the defensive end, but he would be strong offensive weapon to support Doncic.

If Irving does decide to shake up the NBA offseason this summer, a marriage between Dallas and D-Lo makes more sense than this +600 price would indicate.
