Davante Adams Next Team Odds: Chargers Emerging as Serious Contender

While the Green Bay Packers remain favorites on the Davante Adams next team odds market, the Los Angeles Chargers are climbing the oddsboard.

It's a new era for the New York Jets, one that includes ridding the organization of Aaron Rodgers and his friends.  Aaron Glenn and Co. have already begun fresh by releasing Davante Adams, ensuring the star receiver can choose his next destination freely this offseason.

Our Davante Adams next team odds look at the likeliest landing spots for the veteran wideout. While the free agent receiver pool is deep, Adams is the gold standard. He crossed the 1,000-yard threshold for a fifth straight season last year, despite missing six games with an injury.

Could Adams continue to follow his former quarterback(s), or will he choose a unique path this time around? Read on for the odds, analysis, and predictions on where Adams lands.

Adams hasn't made the best decisions when choosing his last two destinations. He's followed former quarterbacks Derek Carr and Rodgers into Las Vegas and New York, respectively. While those stints didn't work out, it was hardly the wide receiver's fault, as he still posted consistent performances.

After the Jets cut bait to give themselves salary cap flexibility, Adams looks poised to be one of the most sought-after free agents of the offseason. While our best sports betting sites list all 32 franchises on the oddsboard, there are two unlikely landing spots, both listed at +10000.

The first almost goes without saying: New York. The Jets just cut ties with Adams, and while there was no bad blood in the separation, there's no reason either side would want to explore a cheaper reunion.

The next is New Orleans. While many may expect Adams to continue his trend of following his former signal callers, the Saints simply do not have the cap space (according to Spotrac) to sign a premier free agent. Even if Carr restructures his deal, New Orleans is $46 million over the cap, which rules it out of the Adams race.

The likeliest destination for the generational receiving talent is Green Bay. Adams spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Packers, and with the team looking for an established No. 1 out wide to pair with QB Jordan Love, a reunion makes a ton of sense logistically.

🔮 Where will Davante Adams play next season?

The Packers (+190) seem to be the a serious contender to sign Adams. The veteran has shown throughout his career that familiarity is a consistent factor for him when deciding his next destinations, so a Green Bay return makes sense for both parties.

While still listed at plus money, the Packers are the favorites to sign Adams at our best sports betting apps. This would be a potential game-changer in what many consider to be the NFL's most competitive division. Green Bay does lack one or two traits Adams is looking for, though.

The Packers check the box of a competitive team and are contenders by the Super Bowl odds. However, they don't play their football on the West Coast, which is where Adams seems most comfortable.

For this reason, many of the teams out west are also in the running for Adams.

The Chargers (+450) are in desperate need of offensive help in the form of a receiver after an embarrassing playoff exit in Houston. The 49ers (+600) could look to replace the newly-departed Deebo Samuel with Adams, and the Rams (+750) could require his services if the Cooper Kupp next team odds market heats up.

The Steelers (+1000) are one of the only other teams currently trading at odds 10/1 or shorter. They're in the Aaron Rodgers next team odds chase and need another wide receiver, so this is another move that would make sense for both sides.

The landing spot that sticks out to me is the Chargers. Los Angeles ticks multiple boxes for Adams as it's the heartbeat of the West Coast. Further, he'd slot in as the de facto wide receiver No. 1, playing for a quarterbak in Justin Herbert who features a huge arm.

Adams could stay right at home and compete, what more could a man want in his next destination? The Chargers also have the most cap space among the top contenders, according to Over The Cap, so it could be a lucrative deal for the wideout.

Prediction: Chargers (+450)
