New York enters the game with a winning record, and the Jets are expected to rely on their defense as they aim to counter Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers, who hold a 3-4 record.

SGP predictions for Chargers vs. Jets
Over 41 (-112 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐
The trends suggest it's likely the Under hits on Monday Night Football, as New York's home games are 1-3 on Overs in 2023. Meanwhile, the Under has hit during two of the Chargers' three road contests.
But the number is just too low to ignore. Six of seven games involving the Chargers in 2023 have finished with 41-plus points, and Los Angeles is maintaining a combination of quality offense (scoring 24.9 points per game) and suspect defense (allowing 24.0 points per game).
The total has crept up throughout the day Monday, moving to 40.5 at FanDuel and 41 at DraftKings. Since we’re comfortable taking the Over up to 42.5, that discrepancy won't be a dealbreaker in determining where to play our SGP.

Jets +3.5 (-112 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Though Over bets haven’t trended well in Jets games, we like the Over in this matchup for the same reason the Jets should be able to stay competitive. Zach Wilson's game management has been improving recently, and he could be an actual weapon against a Chargers defense that ranks dead-last against the pass.
The Jets’ sixth-ranked pass defense (allowing 184.4 yards per game) is well-positioned to limit Herbert to a pedestrian effort. He's thrown four interceptions over his last four games, and the Jets rank fifth in the league in intercepting passes on a per-game basis.
The Jets are 3-1 against the spread at home in 2023. DraftKings lists the line at Jets +3.5 for same-game parlays, while FanDuel is offering New York at +3. We’re leaning toward DK for the parlay, as the hook could become a factor. Game scores such as 23-20 or 24-21 are conceivable in this matchup.
Wilson Over 215.5 passing yards (-115 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐
Wilson threw for 240 yards during a Week 8 win over the Giants, his second time in 2023 hitting the Over on this passing total. The other time came during another prime-time affair, as the Jets put a legitimate scare into the Chiefs during the beginning of October.
This matchup against the Chargers favors Wilson and any other quarterback who opposes the Los Angeles defense. The Chargers field the NFL's worst pass defense while allowing 297.4 passing yards per game. No quarterback has fallen short of 215.5 passing yards against the Chargers in 2023. If Tyson Bagent and Aidan O’Connell can do it, so can Wilson.
While Wilson’s passing line is one yard lower at FanDuel, we prefer the SGP DraftKings is offering due to the hook on the Jets’ point spread and preferable overall odds. The DK parlay is listed with +410 odds, while FanDuel checks in at +382.
