Liverpool vs. Real Madrid was last year’s final in the Champions League. In 2023, the two meet for a seat in the quarterfinals. By far, the clash between the teams led by Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti is the most anticipated in European football this week, but Frankfurt vs. Napoli, Leipzig vs. City, and Inter vs. Porto also promise to entertain.

Here are our best soccer bets from the Champions League (odds via BetMGM, DraftKings Sportsbook, and FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Top Champions League picks

Total: Liverpool vs. Real Madrid Over 2.5 (-136) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Soccer fans around the globe were left mouth-watering after the Round of 16 draw. It’s still early in the competition, but either Liverpool or Real Madrid will need to accept that their Champions League run this season ends before the quarterfinals.

Liverpool have regained form after two convincing Premier League wins, easing pressure on manager Jurgen Klopp and his tactical choices. Liverpool are not in their best form, but never ignore the Anfield factor. Absolutely anything can happen in this match, so our advice is to go for the goals instead of the moneyline pick.

FanDuel has Over 2.5 goals at -136 odds, with Over 3.5 at an excellent +190. Real Madrid are fresh from winning the Club World Cup, months after their Champions League triumph in Paris. Liverpool will want revenge after missing out on Champions League gold, but Real are never impressed by such plots. Goals and entertainment are expected on Tuesday evening in Liverpool.

Spread: Manchester City -1 vs. Leipzig (+185) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Of course, City is out there to win every trophy available, but the Champions League is surely their primary objective. Manager Pep Guardiola came close on many occasions after leaving FC Barcelona but never won it for Bayern or City.

Leipzig are the obvious underdogs in this match. City will look to put some distance between themselves and their German opponents starting in the first leg. That would mean an easier life for the hosts in Manchester in the return match, as well as an improved possibility of concentrating in their conquering mission at home. City -1 vs. Leipzig stands at a great +185 via BetMGM.

Moneyline: Frankfurt and Napoli to tie (+260) ⭐⭐⭐

Could either of these two be bothered by a first-leg draw? We think not. Napoli are doing tremendously well at home and are closer than ever to winning their first Serie A title since the Maradona days. Eintracht, the Europa League winners from last season, can’t complain about their recent achievements either.

This should be a proper clash between two strong sides that are ready to make a name for themselves on the biggest European football stage. At +260 via FanDuel, the draw is a valid option for this match.

Parlay: Inter vs. Porto Over 0.5 first-half goals, Over 7.5 total corners, Lautaro Martinez anytime goalscorer (+280) ⭐⭐⭐

They don’t call it “Pazza Inter” (Crazy Inter) for nothing, do they? Inter vs. Porto is another game where fans expect total madness. It should be beautiful to watch even for neutral fans, as the playing profile of the two sides encourages this scenario.

Action is expected at both ends. And in-form Lautaro Martinez, who netted four times in his last four Serie A games, is surely the man Inter’s faithful expect to see hitting the net when Porto come visiting at the Meazza.
