Wednesday’s NHL prop picks
Flyers ML vs. Sabres (-108 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Flyers have dropped four of their last five games, but it hasn't been for a lack of effort. Philadelphia is still among the best teams in the league with a 53.93% xGF, and the Orange and Black deserved at least a point last time out against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Buffalo has been alternating wins and losses pretty regularly this season. The Sabres are 4-5-0 and have yet to string together two straight wins.
There's also the home-ice advantage for the Flyers who are 3-2-0 in Philadelphia, while the Sabres are 1-2-0 on the road.
Finally, Carter Hart (4-3-0, 2.30 GAA, .921 SV%) is confirmed to start tonight for the Flyers and he's been on his game this season.

Stars ML vs. Flames (-130 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Stars have quietly flown under the radar as one of the best teams in the league this season. They’ve been consistently consistent in the Western Conference for a few seasons.
Dallas leads the league with a 58.37% xGF, while the Flames are towards the middle of the pack at 50.95%.
The Stars have only lost two games this season at 5-1-1, and the Flames have only won two games this year at 2-6-1. Calgary is having some real issues on and off the ice, and the Flames haven't scored more than two goals in any of their last five games during this five-game losing streak.
Keep an eye out for goalie news in this one. If Jake Oettinger is starting for the Stars, the betting odds will present a lot less value for Dallas. He’s the much better netminder and the Stars may prefer to have him start Thursday against the Edmonton Oilers.

Wednesday’s NHL game picks
Avalanche -1.5 vs. Blues (+105 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐
The Avalanche started the season with six straight wins before getting shut out in their last two contests. However, both of those games were on the road, and now the Avs are back home in a great get-right spot against the lowly Blues.
The Blues have lost three of their past five games, and all three losses were by at least two goals, including a 5-0 defeat at the Vancouver Canucks last time out.
Colorado had the Blues number last season with a 3-1-0 record, with two of those wins coming by 2-plus goals. St. Louis isn't expected to be too competitive this season, while Colorado is a Stanley Cup favorite yet again.
Take the Avalanche on the puck line as they return home (2-0-0) against a Blues team that is 1-2-1 on the road.
Owen Tippett Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+142 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐
Flyers forward Owen Tippett has been a one-man shooting gallery this season.
He has 33 SOG in nine games, including 25 shots in his last five contests. He's also been firing plenty of shot attempts that missed the net.
Tippett only had two shots on goal last game but had six total attempts. He’s gone over 3.5 shots in four of his last seven games. In the other three, he had games with six, eight, and one shot attempt.
Home ice has been favorable for Tippett as he’s gone over 3.5 shots in three of five home games thus far, including five shots and eight shots against the Minnesota Wild and Anaheim. Consider laddering the top-line winger.
