Adam Fantilli is seeing his Calder Trophy odds drop across a number of our best sportsbooks.

NHL training camps are underway, and Chicago Blackhawks center Connor Bedard is the unanimous favorite in the 2024 Calder Trophy odds across our best sports betting apps. Sportsbook Review betting analyst Neil Parker has looked at the latest NHL odds and offers his insights on the market, including highlighting the potential for Columbus Blue Jackets top-pick Adam Fantilli’s chances at winning the award.

Connor Bedard has been billed as the next hockey superstar for years, and he's set to slot in as the No. 1 center for the Chicago Blackhawks immediately and be their top player. He found the back of the net three times and added a helper during Saturday’s game in the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase.

However, there's been recent odds movement in the Calder Trophy market at a few of our best live betting sites, and Columbus Blue Jackets center Adam Fantilli's prices have dropped at multiple shops.

The potential for the Michigan standout and third overall selection in the 2023 NHL Draft to legitimately contend for the Calder Trophy has been the subject of multiple SBR watercooler talks. And Fantilli is already a consensus second-tier favorite in the market.

Still, Bedard opened as the clear favorite in the 2024 Calder Trophy odds across our best NHL betting sites for a reason, and he might just stay atop the lists all season long.

Calder Trophy odds analysis

Bedard remains the clear favorite in the Calder Trophy odds, and this has the potential to be a boring betting market if he lives up to expectations.

Calder Trophy odds movement

Unless there’s significant betting action in this market to move the numbers, I’m not anticipating many adjustments to the Calder Trophy odds until the regular season begins in October. Instead, it's likely we continue to see only slight shifts.

Calder Trophy odds 2024: Favorite

Connor Bedard, Blackhawks (-140 via bet365)

While I’m not convinced Bedard is set to be the next generational star, this price might be the best number we see all season. Bedard checks all the boxes entering the league, and he's already shortened from the -110 number FanDuel initially listed.

He was granted exceptional status by Hockey Canada to play in the WHL a year early, and the 18-year-old scoring star was the CHL Player of the Year and the World Junior Championship MVP.

Calder Trophy odds 2024: Contender

Luke Hughes, Devils (+750 via DraftKings)

I expect Hughes’ rookie role will result in cushy matchups and oodles of offensive-zone starts. He’s both a smooth skater and perfect fit for the New Jersey Devils’ possession-driving, high-event style.

Calder Trophy odds 2024: Long shot

Adam Fantilli, Blue Jackets (+1400 via bet365)

With a number of our best sports betting sites shrinking the Calder Trophy odds for Fantilli, this outlier +2000 FanDuel price for the Columbus rookie shows value.

Additionally, if the talented center carves out a scoring role with power-play time, there's a legitimate shot at him producing a strong enough offensive season to compete with Bedard – especially if the Chicago freshman were to miss time or fail to live up to the lofty expectations.

Calder Trophy odds 2024: Fade

Matthew Knies, Maple Leafs (+2500 via DraftKings)

The Toronto Maple Leafs just might slot Knies into a top-offensive role, but I’m expecting him to settle into a middle-six gig and fail to pad the points column enough to have a realistic shot at winning the Calder Trophy.
