The San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings both try for a third straight win at Levi’s Stadium in Week 12. We break it down with our Vikings-49ers picks and predictions.

Both teams will carry a great deal of momentum into this game. The Niners have reignited their playoff push after clinching back-to-back wins against the Rams and the Jaguars. The victory over the Rams was particularly significant, as it was the 49ers’ first home win of the season, and it came against a strong divisional rival.

The 49ers and the Vikings are now both 5-5 straight-up for the season. Minnesota is currently the No. 6 seed in the NFC, holding a tiebreaker over New Orleans and San Francisco courtesy of its superior win percentage in conference games. This is therefore a vital game for Minnesota and San Francisco. The Vikings are 6-4 ATS this season, and the Niners are 4-6.

Here are my picks and predictions for the NFL Week 12 matchup between the Vikings and 49ers (odds via PointsBet; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Vikings vs. 49ers Predictions

Vikings +3.5 (-115)

These teams are battling for the final NFC playoff spots and neither one can afford to lose a potential tiebreaker, so this should be a tight, fiercely contested game.

The Vikings offense has impressed over the past couple of weeks, with QB Kirk Cousins linking up well with WR Justin Jefferson, and the 34-31 win against the Green Bay Packers last weekend should give Minnesota’s players plenty of confidence as they prepare to head to the Bay Area.

The Vikings have lost only two games by more than three points this season, and they are 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games.

The Niners beat the Los Angeles Rams 31-10 in their last home game, but they are still 1-4 ATS at the Levi’s Stadium this year, and they are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games as favorites. They may win this game, but if they do, it is likely to be by a slender margin.

Over 49 (-110)

Both of these offenses have seemingly clicked into gear in recent weeks. If Cousins continues to find the supremely talented Jefferson, the Vikings should put up a strong team total on Sunday.

The 49ers’ run game has also been excellent with 123.2 yards per game, and a respectable 4.2 yards per carry. That has eased the burden on QB Jimmy Garroppolo.

The Vikings are tied for last in the league with 4.8 yards per carry allowed through 10 games, which does not augur well for this game.

The Over cashed in six of Minnesota’s last seven away games, and it has also paid off in five of the Niners’ last seven games as home favorites.
