The NFL is playing its first-ever regular-season game in Paris, France, this week as the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints do battle in a matchup that continues the league’s International Series. My Steelers vs. Saints prediction expects New Orleans to bounce back from slow starts and stay competitive for four quarters en route to covering the spread.

Kickoff from Stade de France is set for 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday. The Steelers are 3.5-point betting favorites.

Steelers vs. Saints prediction & best bet

Saints +3.5 (-118 via DraftKings)

The Saints snapped a three-game losing streak with a road win over the Giants, and they should keep winning if they can find a way to avoid slow starts. New Orleans is one of two teams that haven't scored first in a game, and it averages the third-fewest points per drive (0.40) in the first quarter this season.

New Orleans may have found the right opponent to start quicker against, as Pittsburgh is coming off its largest fourth quarter comeback (13 points) since 2002. The Saints also need to stop getting in their own way, as they have allowed the most points off turnovers (49) of any team in the league. But this isn’t a situation where the Saints are at a disadvantage, as they and the Steelers are each tied for ninth, averaging 1.5 takeaways per game.

📡 SBR Edge: Can't double down off a win?

With the Jets and Steelers, Aaron Rodgers has made 16 starts after a win. Rodgers has won just six of those starts, and in eight of them, his teams have scored seven or fewer points in the first half.

Keying in on the Steelers' top two targets

There is a stark difference when Rodgers targets DK Metcalf and Germie Bernard versus all other pass catchers. Rodgers has a 95 Total QBR and 82% competition percentage with 6.7 yards per attempt when targeting Metcalf and Bernard. But when targeting everyone else on the roster, his numbers drop to an 8 Total QBR, 50% completion percentage, and 3.3 yards per attempt.

Pittsburgh’s receiving corps still lacks proven depth, as Michael Pittman Jr., Roman Wilson, and Cole Burgess remain on IR, while Ben Skowronek is questionable. That is a big reason that Rodgers has averaged just 3.7 and 3.8 air yards per pass attempt over the last two weeks, and it should help a New Orleans secondary that has allowed the seventh-highest yards-per-attempt average this season.

Play to: Saints +3 (-105), pass at Saints +2.5

Score prediction: Steelers 23, Saints 20
