Sunday’s Premier League match at Anfield (10 a.m. ET, Peacock) pits the highest-scoring team against a Reds side looking to win at home for the first time in the top flight this season.

Like most modern-day strikers in the box at the first sign of a tackle, I'm diving into my Liverpool vs. Brighton prediction. Liverpool are the +105 betting favorite, and I’m backing them to win. I’ve also highlighted Alexander Isak and Bradley Barcola for the pivotal match.

Liverpool vs. Brighton best bet

Check out all of our soccer betting analysis and expert predictions this season.

Liverpool ML (+105 via BetMGM)

Take nothing away from Brighton’s start. They are in third place after losing just one of seven matches. They’ve scored the most goals (23) and are tied with Arsenal for the fewest conceded (5).

However, Brighton’s only victory against a team sitting above 12th place was at home over Arsenal. Their other wins came against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Coventry, and Sunderland. Their two away victories were against the latter pair, and both are in the relegation zone.

Liverpool, winners of five of the previous six, have only lost one of 12 matches in all competitions. And they haven’t won at Anfield in the Premier League, an anomalous stat that is about to change.

More Liverpool vs. Brighton expert picks

Alexander Isak anytime goal (+130 via FanDuel)

Isak is playing his best football since joining Liverpool last season. He has five goals in his last five appearances, scoring in four of those matches. The only exception was at home against Fulham.

He scored in his only other home appearance against Nottingham Forest. Isak has endured more than his fair share of injury concerns since becoming a Red, but has recovered fully from a recent thigh injury.

He also scored in one of the two previous meetings with Brighton.

Bradley Barcola anytime goal or assist (+115 via FanDuel)

Unless your name is Erling Haaland, it takes time to adapt to the Premier League’s frenetic pace. Just ask Barcola, who didn’t score or assist in his first four appearances with the Reds after joining from PSG.

Barcola’s adaptation period may be coming to an end, as he notched his first Premier League assist last game against Brentford. He also enjoyed a breakout performance in the Champions League, bagging a hat trick in the Reds’ 6-3 away win over LASK.

And despite conceding only five times, Brighton have allowed 10.2 expected goals.
