My best Giants vs. Texans prediction focuses on how JJ McCarthy's accuracy issues will make it very difficult for the Giants to keep up with the Texans' suddenly high-powered offense. McCarthy is making his first start as a Giant after relieving Jameis Winston last week.

The Texans are favored by 10.5 points ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET game at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The game will air on FOX and stream on FOX One.

Giants vs. Texans prediction & best bet

Texans -10.5 (-105 via FanDuel)

For his career, McCarthy is completing just 57.2% of his passes, and last week, he was 11-of-21. That performance came against the Saints, who rank 26th in opponent completion percentage. The Texans rank 20th and just held Trevor Lawrence to only 24 completions on 41 attempts last week.

I don't see how the Giants keep up with an offense that has averaged 30 points per game over the last three weeks, scoring at least 26 in each contest. CJ Stroud and the Texans' passing attack have come to life and now rank fourth in the league in yards per game.

The Giants are allowing the fifth-fewest passing yards per game, but that's mainly because teams have such an easy time running against them, averaging 135.5 yards per game.

📡 SBR Edge: Turnover issues

The Giants have turned the ball over 11 times this season, with McCarthy throwing an interception last week. The Texans have only three giveaways all season and a turnover margin of +3, which should give them more possessions in a game where they already have numerous advantages.

Giants' rushing attack won't be able to support McCarthy

McCarthy can't beat the Texans alone, even if they allow the sixth-most passing yards in the league. And unfortunately for the Giants, their running game won't have a chance to get going in this game.

Cam Skattebo is the only Giant over 100 yards this season, even after a zero-touch game last week. He hasn't topped 60 yards since Week 1 against the Cowboys, and he's averaging only 3.8 yards per carry. The Texans are allowing just 83 rushing yards per game, which ranks third in the NFL. They're also allowing just 3.4 yards per carry, which is tied for the second-best mark in the league.

Play to: Texans -13.5

Score prediction: Texans 27, Giants 10
