NHL Predictions Today: Odds, Picks & Best Bets for Saturday, Oct. 24

Saturday's 12-game slate gives us a ton of value for my NHL predictions today. We'll touch a couple of marquee matchups, including Sharks vs. Bruins and Lightning vs. Mammoth.
My best bet is on the goal total under between the Hurricanes and Blues. Both teams' expected goaltender tonight have a 2.17 GAA or better, meaning goals will be at a premium. It's why Under 6.5 is my top play on Saturday's board.

💰 NHL best bet today
Hurricanes at Blues Under 6.5 (-125 via DraftKings)
The totals have been flying over for both of these teams lately, creating value on the goal total under 6.5. Pyotr Kochetkov is slotted for the Hurricanes' net tonight, holding opponents to a crisp 1.98 GAA, allowing only 1 opponent to score more than 2 goals.
Joel Hofer is expected in the crease for the Blues. Hofer has a 2.17 GAA, posting 1 shutout while holding his past 2 opponents to 3 combined goals.
The past 3 head-to-head matchups between these teams have gone Under 6.5.
Go to DraftKings and bet Under 6.5 at -125 odds.
📡 SBR Edge: Defensive Efficiency
The Hurricanes rank 6th in goals allowed per game (2.7) this season, while the Blues are 5th in penalty kill percentage (85.7%).

Sharks +1.5 (-145 via BetMGM)
The Sharks face a red-hot Bruins offense for the second head-to-head matchup of the young season tonight. San Jose lost 6-3 at home in their previous tilt, but they enter tonight's game with a 2-game winning streak.
Boston is 4-1 as a puck-line favorite in its last 5 games. However, the Sharks have scored 10 goals during their win streak, so expect Boston netminder Jeremy Swayman to be challenged in goal.
San Jose is 5-2 ATS on the road this year. Plus, 94 percent of puck line bets from the public are on the Bruins -1.5.
Go to BetMGM to bet on Sharks +1.5 at -145 odds.
Lightning Moneyline (+125 via FanDuel)
The Lightning have won 3 of their last 4 games. However, they just had a 3-game win streak snapped against the Avalanche on Friday night. Now, Tampa Bay finds itself on the second leg of a back-to-back against the Mammoth.
Utah has lost 2 of its last 3 matchups, surrendering 4+ goals in every outing during this 3-game stretch. Tonight, goaltender Karel Vejmelka is expected to start for the Mammoth. He's allowed 9 goals in his past 2 starts, resulting in a pair of losses.
The Lightning will likely have Dennis Hildeby in net. He has a 2-0 record and has not allowed more than 2 goals to either opponent he has faced.
Go to FanDuel to bet on the Lightning moneyline at +125 odds.
