Chiefs vs. Seahawks Prediction: Week 7 Odds, Picks & Best Bet (Oct. 25)
This week’s Sunday Night Football matchup is between two of the last three Super Bowl champions as the Seattle Seahawks host the Kansas City Chiefs. While it was tempting to back the undefeated road underdogs as my best bet, my Chiefs vs. Seahawks prediction sides with the Under in what should be a defensive struggle. I’m looking to build on last week’s Texans vs. Jaguars player props column, which went 3-0 and profited 3.5 units.
Kansas City is 5-0 for the sixth time in franchise history and puts that undefeated record to the test in a game in which Seattle is a 3-point betting favorite. Kickoff from Lumen Field is set for 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC).

Chiefs vs. Seahawks prediction & best bet

Kansas City’s offensive improvement in games where Patrick Mahomes was its starting quarterback over the last two seasons is a big reason the team is 5-0. In Mahomes’ starts in 2025, the Chiefs averaged 23.4 points per game, 113.9 rushing yards per game, had three rushes of 20+ yards, and averaged 7.1 yards per pass. This year, those numbers have improved to 28.0 points and 159.8 rushing yards per game, seven rushes of 20+ yards, and 8.3 yards per pass (all ranking in the top 5 in the NFL).
While Kansas City’s offense ranks fourth in Offensive Efficiency, I expect a conservative game plan in a raucous environment. Mahomes has already attempted 30 or fewer passes in four of five games, and Seattle’s defense allows the fewest passing yards per game and the fewest yards per attempt.
📡 SBR Edge: Turnover-prone Sam Darnold
Sam Darnold has thrown seven interceptions since Week 3, while no other quarterback in the league entered the week having thrown more than four in that span. And Darnold's 27 turnovers over the last two seasons are the most in the league.
Kansas City's blitz packages should frustrate Darnold
When Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo dials up blitzes this season, Kansas City is getting pressure at the fourth-highest rate (51% of the time). That is not good news for Darnold, who ranks 29th with a QBR of 38 against the blitz, while facing pressure 53% of the time (30th). Thus, it’s a bad sign when the Seahawks' offensive line allows more pressure against blitzes than the Chiefs generate.
This matchup pits two teams ranked second and third in defensive success rate and points per drive allowed. Lastly, Mahomes has faced the defending Super Bowl champions three times in his career, and all of those games stayed Under the projected total.
