Packers vs. Lions Prediction: Week 7 Odds, Picks & Best Bet (Oct. 25)
Last Updated: October 24, 2026 12:30 PM EDT • 3 minute read X Social Google News Link
The Detroit Lions are coming off a bye week to host the Green Bay Packers in a big NFC North divisional matchup, but my Packers vs. Lions prediction looks past Detroit’s rest advantage and sides with the road underdogs.
The NFC North is one of two divisions where every team has a winning record, and this is one of two remaining matchups on the Week 7 slate between teams above .500.
Kickoff from Ford Field is set for 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday (FOX). The Lions are 3.5-point betting favorites.

Packers vs. Lions prediction & best bet
Packers + 3.5 (-112 via bet365)
Green Bay has lost four straight road division games, including last season’s playoff loss to the Bears. But its previous win was at Detroit last Thanksgiving, and thus far this year, the Lions' defense looks worse than the one the Packers dropped 31 points on in that game.
Jordan Love’s improvement when facing pressure is something that shouldn’t go unnoticed.
When Love faced pressure from Weeks 1-3, he completed 31% of his passes for 4.9 yards per attempt and logged a 0-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio with a 1.7 QBR. But from Weeks 4-6, those numbers in that split improved to a 61% completion percentage, 9.1 yards per attempt, a 1-to-0 touchdown-to-interception ratio, and a 65.2 QBR. Those numbers rank among the top three in the NFL over the last three weeks.
On the other side, Green Bay’s defense that ranks in the top 10 in scoring and yards per game allowed inspires confidence, especially after holding the Cowboys to 48 rushing yards last week.
📡 SBR Edge: Not stopping the pass
All five quarterbacks that have faced the Lions defense this year have thrown for multiple touchdowns, while four of the five have three-plus touchdown passes.
More than Watson and Golden
Green Bay has the longest active streak of games with fewer than 100 rushing yards (six). But that weakness has been mitigated by the fact that Christian Watson and Matthew Golden have combined for 1,039 receiving yards this season, the most by any duo.
It is not just Watson and Golden that I expect to give Detroit’s secondary fits. Tight end Tucker Kraft saw eight targets last week, and has now seen seven or more targets in three of the last four.
Detroit allows the most receiving yards by far per game to tight ends. Not only does it allow 109 yards per game to the position, while no other team allows more than 83, but the Lions have also allowed the most touchdowns to tight ends despite already having their bye week.
