Trevor Lawrence has led the Jaguars to five straight wins entering Week 10, but it’s not entirely accurate to say that he’s carried the team all by himself during this stretch. During the streak, the Jacksonville defense has held opponents to 16.2 points per game.
But this week against San Francisco, we could see Lawrence asked to shoulder more of the offensive responsibilities. The Niners have a team total of 24.5 points, meaning it could take more from Lawrence to compete in this one. That’s especially true if San Francisco’s fifth-ranked rushing defense (86.1 opponent rushing yards per game) limits Jags running back Travis Etienne.
Because of their run-stuffing nature, the Niners tend to allow opposing quarterbacks to complete more passes than most teams--because teams are throwing more against them. Lawrence has cleared this 23.5-completion line four times, but I like his chances against a team allowing 26.5 completions per game (30th in the NFL). At +100 odds, DraftKings has the best odds on this prop.

Trevor Lawrence Over 15.5 rushing yards (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐
Quarterbacks with solid mobility like Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and then Arizona Cardinals signal-caller Joshua Dobbs have found success exploiting that element of the run defense against San Francisco to the extent that it’s worth scoping out the lines on Lawrence’s rushing yards.
Seeing the prop line at 15.5 yards makes it a solid play. Lawrence has cleared this mark five times, landing right below it at 15 yards on the dot in one other game. His efficiency when he takes off to run has been strong, as Lawrence has averaged 5.1 yards per carry this season. He’s had at least one carry of 8+ yards in every game played; as long as he scampers at least a few times, precedent suggests he gets there.

Lawrence Under 1.5 passing touchdowns (-135 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐
Jacksonville’s team total sits at 20.5 for this game, so a couple of touchdowns should be in the cards. And the 49ers aren’t impenetrable against the pass, allowing 1.3 passing TDs per game on the year.
At the end of the day, we like Lawrence to post solid passing numbers. But it’s difficult to project multiple passing touchdowns for the Jaguars in this matchup against a San Francisco defense debuting newly acquired Chase Young on the pass rush. Though San Francisco is stingy against the run, Jacksonville wants to run it in the red zone; Etienne has three multi-touchdown games in the past four weeks, which could boost our cause here if he eats up some of Lawrence’s scoring chances.
Stay away from FanDuel’s inflated -160 odds on this Under bet. DraftKings and BetMGM offer acceptable value at -140, and the same story for Caesars at -137. But bet365 comes in again with the best odds on this one at -135.
