There's a wide array of NFL regular-season team props available at our best NFL betting sites, including the team to lead the league in scoring. Read on for our picks for the NFL's highest-scoring team, using NFL odds from the best sports betting sites.

Most bettors will turn to the Super Bowl odds and NFL player award markets when filling out their betting portfolio before the season kicks off. But there's value to be found in other markets, such as season specials.

DraftKings has posted odds on which team will finish the year as the highest-scoring outfit in the league, with odds ranging from +500 to +20000. There's also the lowest-scoring team market.

The Kansas City Chiefs led the league in scoring in 2022, with 496 points in 17 games. As a result, the defending Super Bowl champions are the favorites to repeat as highest-scoring team at +500.

While the Chiefs are always a good bet to be among the top scoring teams in the league, we're looking elsewhere for a value bet in this market.

Here's our pick for the highest-scoring team in 2023 (odds via our best sports betting apps).

NFL highest scoring team pick

Chargers (+1600)

The Chiefs have finished top-six in scoring in each season since 2017. But Eric Bieniemy had been the team's offensive coordinator since 2018 and, after helping the team win Super Bowl LVII, he departed for the Washington Commanders.

Along with losing its OC, it can be argued the Chiefs offense downgraded from a talent perspective as well.

Kansas City lost its second-leading receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who came 67 yards short of a 1,000-yard season, and will attempt to replace him with in-house options. More will be expected of young wideouts Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, and rookie Rashee Rice.

The Chiefs also lost Pro Bowl left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. and pivoted to Donovan Smith, who took the second-most penalties (12) in 2022 and 2020 (10) and is generally regarded as one of the worst left tackles in football. They're also downgrading from Andrew Wylie to Jawaan Taylor at right tackle.

But enough about the Chiefs. Here's our argument for the high-flying Chargers.

The Chargers finished fourth in scoring in 2021, but dropped off to ninth in 2022. But the Bolts have also since undergone coaching changes.

Out is former offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and in is former Dallas Cowboys OC Kellen Moore. He was the conductor of an offense that finished first in points scored in 2021.

Now he'll partner with Justin Herbert, who has one of the biggest arms in the league. Our Neil Parker believes this quarterback-coordinator match presents value on Herbert in odds to throw for 5,000 passing yards in 2023.

In addition, the Chargers have dual-threat running back Austin Ekeler who posted 38 total touchdowns in the past two seasons. They also have a receiving corps fronted by veterans Keenan Allen and Mike Williams and buttressed by first-round draft pick Quentin Johnston who stands 6-foot-3, 208 pounds.

"Everyone kind of sees the measurables, the size as far as the height and the weight. What he did for TCU from his versatility, I thought, was really, really special. His ability to kind of catch-and-run, he was a fly-sweep guy," Moore said of Johnston, per Chargers.com's Omar Navarro

"He got the ball in a lot of different ways. You saw a lot of versatility in his game that maybe, initially, someone may not have necessarily anticipated. We were really excited that he was there and available for us."

The Chargers offense has all the pieces in place to pile up the points. They also have a head coach with an aggressive mindset. Brandon Staley is known for taking calculated risks on third and fourth downs.

The Chargers led the league in third-down tries in field-goal range in 2022 and tied for third in fourth-down tries, according to NFL analyst Warren Sharp.

A talented offense, plus a pass-happy coordinator and an aggressive head coach should equal to a 16/1 ticket on the Chargers leading the league in scoring holding plenty of value.
