Super Bowl Odds: Betting Favorites & Top Contenders Entering Training Camp

I'm exploring the latest Super Bowl odds as training camps are now in full swing across the NFL and Week 1 is just over a month away.

The Rams sit atop the oddsboard as the Super Bowl betting favorite, while the Dolphins anchor the bottom at 1000/1 to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. Let's break down the top contenders and how the offseason has shaped the betting perception of the league's elite teams.

'Superteam' Rams the clear favorite

The Rams are comfortably the Super Bowl favorite at +550 odds - the Bills are No. 2 all the way up at +1000. L.A. boasts a team littered with superstar talent at the game's most important positions, including the reigning NFL MVP in Matthew Stafford and newly acquired two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett. Throw in Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Trent McDuffie, a deep defensive front, and perhaps the NFL's best head coach in Sean McVay, and this is the best team on paper we've seen in years.

Offseason hype rarely translates to in-season success, however, and a top-heavy, veteran roster means Los Angeles could be more vulnerable to key injuries sinking their season than other contenders are. The Rams certainly deserve to be the Super Bowl favorite entering the season, but don't be fooled into crowning them before a single snap has even been played. A little extra motivation for the Rams: Their home field, SoFi Stadium, is hosting Super Bowl 61 in February.

Defending champion Seahawks gear up for another run

The Seahawks (+1200) enter 2026 looking to become only the third team this century to win back-to-back Super Bowls. Seattle's elite advantages from last year should carry over, headlined by NFL Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba and defensive mastermind Mike Macdonald at head coach.

While the club's core largely remains intact, Seattle wasn't immune to some key free-agent departures, including Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker, Riq Woolen, Coby Bryant, and Boye Mafe. The Seahawks also lost inventive offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to the Raiders' head coaching job. They beat the Rams in a pair of down-to-the-wire games en route to the Super Bowl, first to win the division in late December and then in the NFC Championship Game. But oddsmakers clearly see the Rams' massive offseason additions as having elevated L.A. above its division rival.

Bills & Ravens look to get over the hump

The Bills and Ravens have the shortest betting odds to win a crowded AFC, with Buffalo slightly ahead at +1000 to Baltimore's +1200. These teams have tons of similarities, so it makes sense that the best sports betting sites have handicapped their respective Super Bowl odds side-by-side. Both teams are led by superstar quarterbacks entering their ninth NFL seasons who are only missing a Super Bowl title on their Hall of Fame resumes. (Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson also happen to be the top two NFL MVP odds favorites.)

After several years of coming up short in the postseason, the Bills and Ravens both fired long-tenured head coaches following last season (Sean McDermott and John Harbaugh, respectively). They went in very different directions with their head coaching hires, however. Buffalo elevated existing offensive coordinator Joe Brady, while Baltimore tabbed Chargers DC Jesse Minter for their vacancy. The major storyline for the Bills and Ravens is whether or not their new head coaches - alongside some minor roster retooling - can finally result in a Big Game appearance for one of these well-established contenders.

Chiefs & Patriots headline best of the rest

There are twelve teams with odds currently at +2000 or shorter to win Super Bowl LXI. Beyond the top four favorites, which we've already discussed, the next tier includes the Chiefs, Chargers, Eagles, 49ers, Broncos, Lions, Patriots, and Bengals. Those are all talented teams with significant roster or health question marks, however, which is why they are grouped together on the oddsboard.

Two of the more intriguing contenders in that category are the Chiefs and Patriots. Kansas City is coming off its worst campaign of the Patrick Mahomes era, which included the star QB tearing his ACL as the team missed the playoffs. Meanwhile, New England's development was far ahead of schedule in 2025, with Drake Maye's breakout season (alongside some good fortune) propelling the Pats all the way to the Super Bowl.

Just because these 12 are the ones I've featured as the "contenders" as of the beginning of training camp doesn't mean the 2027 Super Bowl champion will necessarily be found in this group. The Seahawks were +6000 ahead of last season.
