The Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins have arrived in Frankfurt, Germany, for one of the standout games in Week 9, and our Dolphins vs. Chiefs prediction evaluates the NFL odds and the potential impact of Tyreek Hill in his revenge game.

Will sleep be a factor in this mouthwatering contest between two AFC superpowers early Sunday morning?

The Miami Dolphins arrived in Frankfurt earlier in the week and, as of late Thursday, mentioned that they were still grappling with jet lag. In contrast, the Kansas City Chiefs chose to delay their travel, departing on Thursday for their upcoming game, indicating differing approaches to managing travel and potential jet lag between the two teams.

Dolphins vs. Chiefs prediction

Dolphins +2 (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’ve been with the Dolphins in Germany since their first practice session on Wednesday. They were a lot livelier on Thursday, with some of them admitting that they were still not over their jet lag after two days in the city.

In NFL international games, the significance of adequate sleep is underscored. The teams that emerged victorious in the recent games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London had the advantage of spending the entire week in the UK leading up to their respective matchups. In contrast, the Buffalo Bills, who experienced offensive struggles until the fourth quarter during their London game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, flew over to the UK just a day before the game on a Thursday, potentially impacting their performance.

Both the Dolphins and Chiefs are 6-2, so it is not as though Kansas City is facing an inferior team in this contest. The result on Sunday could have huge implications for playoff seeding in January.

The Dolphins have the No. 1 offense, leading the NFL in both rushing yards (1,214) and net passing yards (2,412). Running back Raheem Mostert and wide receiver Tyreek Hill have scored in the same game in six of Miami's eight outings this season. Their speed will pose an incredible threat to the Chiefs’ defense, especially if they’re sleep-deprived.

The AFC Offensive Player of the Month, Hill, who already has over 1,000 receiving yards this season, said he’s treating this game like any other. He did admit that it took some time to get over being traded from the Chiefs last year. Regardless of what he says, Hill is going to be up for this one. Head coach Mike McDaniel will have a few things schemed up to get his star receiver the headlines.

Two points for a team boasting the best offensive unit in the NFL is too good to turn down.

We have to take the points in this matchup. There is no home-field advantage for the Chiefs. The advantage in this game is with the Dolphins because they have had longer to adjust to the time zone. Whereas Miami’s time difference is five hours this week, Kansas City’s is six.

Dolphins vs. Chiefs odds analysis

Miami is +110 at DraftKings and bet365 for the moneyline upset as of Thursday. The Dolphins are 1-2 as underdogs this season. The best price you can get for the Chiefs straight up is -120 via FanDuel. Kansas City is 6-2 SU as the favorite this season.

International games are traditionally low-scoring affairs due to the huge amount of travel involved, however, Miami’s offense has adjusted to the time zone and is capable of lighting up the scoreboard. The total is set at 51 points via DraftKings and Caesars, our other best sports betting apps have it at 50.5 points. The Over is 5-3 in Dolphins games this season, but 2-6 in Chiefs games.
