The Dallas Cowboys visit the San Francisco 49ers in a classic showdown, and our Cowboys vs. 49ers SGP predictions based on the best NFL odds expect Dallas to rise to the occasion in an NFC Divisional Round rematch.

The San Francisco 49ers (4-0) have looked like one of the NFL’s best teams through the first four weeks. But they are about to run into the Dallas Cowboys (3-1), and they’re eager to prove they’re worthy of hanging with the favorites in the Super Bowl odds.

With Dallas trading as more than a field-goal underdog, we’re looking for Big D to make this a competitive, high-scoring affair.

SGP predictions for Cowboys vs. 49ers

Cowboys +3.5 (-108) ⭐⭐⭐

Dallas laid an egg in its one loss at Arizona, but you could argue it has been more dominant than San Francisco outside of that one aberration. The Cowboys have outscored their other three opponents, 108-13.

The Cowboys should be motivated to compete after falling flat the last time they faced this San Francisco group in January. Assuming Dallas shows up like it has in each of its three wins, this game feels like one that comes down to a field-goal margin on either side. The +3.5 pushes me onto the Dallas side.

DraftKings lists the Cowboys with -108 odds on the point spread, providing a solid edge in value compared to FanDuel’s offering of -115.

Over 45 (-112) ⭐⭐⭐

Aligning with the Over for our parlay has little to do with a lack of faith in these respective defenses. The Cowboys and 49ers both rank among the NFL’s top-three teams in scoring defense, allowing a combined 24.8 points per game.

Although these units are elite, we’re looking at this number in the mid-40s as extremely attainable for two offenses with too much firepower to ignore. Both teams have averaged north of 30 points per game on the season, combining for 62.3 points per contest.

After last year’s playoff matchup between these sides totaled only 31 points, I look for both offenses to find ways to open things up through the air. We hardly need a shootout in order to clear this number, and it’s difficult to imagine both defenses dominating in the same way as they did in the playoffs now that the offenses have a better grasp of what to expect on the other side.

Dak Prescott Over 240.5 passing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The primary reason for our belief in the Cowboys in this game boils down to the notion that Dak Prescott and the passing offense are going to be able to move the ball. The San Francisco defense has been somewhat susceptible to surrendering production through the air, allowing an average of 218.3 passing yards per game (17th in NFL).

On the other hand, San Francisco is stingy against the run, allowing just 66 rushing yards per game to its opponents on the year. Prescott has cleared this passing total in each of his last three games, and his team projects to rely on his arm to keep pace with the explosive Niners offense.

DraftKings offers the better value on this prop and the overall parlay as Prescott needs only to clear 240.5 yards at DK compared to 242.5 at FanDuel. 

DraftKings puts the SGP at +410, providing a clear edge over the FanDuel odds of +362.
