Two slumping teams will compete in Week 9, and we offer our Colts vs. Panthers NFL player prop predictions, enhancing the excitement of the game with the best available NFL odds.

The Carolina Panthers, who possessed the first overall pick in the 2023 draft and featured quarterback Bryce Young, have encountered a challenging season, marked by a disappointing 1-6 record. Nonetheless, they broke their losing streak and secured their first win of the season in Week 8 by defeating the Houston Texans, providing a glimmer of hope in an otherwise challenging campaign.

The Indianapolis Colts lost their first-round rookie quarterback, Anthony Richardson, to a season-ending injury in Week 2, resulting in a record of 3-5. They aim to break a three-game losing streak as they face a Panthers team that began the season with a 0-6 record.

Colts vs. Panthers NFL player props: Week 9

Adam Thielen and Jonathan Taylor to combine for 180+ rushing and receiving yards (+300 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Carolina Panthers have been leaning heavily on wide receiver Adam Thielen this season to help their rookie quarterback. The former Minnesota wideout is averaging 81 receiving yards as a Panther, leading the team in targets (70), receptions (57) and yards. He has posted three games of 100 or more receiving yards this year.

Carolina is set to face a Colts team with a defense that's allowed the eighth-highest average of passing yards per game this season. This vulnerability was exemplified in Week 8 when New Orleans wide receiver Rashid Shaheed had a standout performance, accumulating 153 receiving yards against the Colts' defense, potentially signaling an opportunity for the Carolina passing game in their upcoming matchup.

Since returning from his injury, Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has gained 316 all-purpose yards in four games. However, his production has gained momentum these last two weeks. Taylor rushed for 75 yards against Cleveland, adding another 45 through the air. Last week, he ran for 95 yards against the Saints while tacking on another two receiving yards.

The Panthers are surrendering the fourth-most rushing yards in the league per game this season (139.4). Carolina has allowed four opposing running backs to gain at least 90 yards on the ground against them.

Gardner Minshew and Bryce Young Over 44.5 total combined completions (-115 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Minshew took over as the starting quarterback for the Colts in Week 2 against the Texans. The former Jaguar signal-caller has thrown for at least half of this total in three of those six games. He completed 19 passes in three quarters after taking over for the injured Anthony Richardson against Houston. The Panthers allow opposing quarterbacks to complete an average of 19.8 passes per game this season.

Carolina rookie Bryce Young is averaging 22.8 completions per game this season. He has connected on at least 22 of his pass attempts in all but one of his appearances this year. Young will take on a Colts defense that gives up 22.8 completions per game in their 2023 campaign.

Both teams to score 20 points (+155 via Bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Despite their losing record, the Colts score the sixth-most points per game this year (25.6). Indianapolis has put 20 points on the scoreboard in every game so far this season. Defensively, they are allowing the most points per game in the league to their opponents (28.6). Only two teams have failed to reach this mark against them.

The Panthers enter this matchup, scoring an average of 18.1 points per game this year. However, they have scored at least 20 points in three of their last five games. Carolina is giving up 28.4 points per game to their opponents this season, which is the third-worst average in the league.
