Things aren't looking too hot for the Denver Nuggets, who have dropped five of their last eight games and will be without arguably their three best players in Monday's matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers.

It's been a similarly tumultuous run for L.A., which lost five straight games to open the James Harden era before turning it around with a 4-1 record in their five games ahead of Monday's clash with the defending champions.

Russell Westbrook Under 9.5 points (-115 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

That 4-1 run that Los Angeles is enjoying right now? It's directly coincided with Westbrook assuming a bench role for the Clippers, and his scoring has taken a predictable hit.

Over those five games, Westbrook is averaging 21.8 minutes — down from 30.7 minutes in his previous 10 games — and he's attempted fewer than 10 shots in four of those five contests. It doesn't help that he's shooting just 35.6% from the floor in that stretch and a ghastly 18.2% from deep, and he's converting just 60% from the charity stripe.

It's no surprise the former MVP has scored in double figures just twice in his last six games after hitting that mark eight times in his first nine. It feels like the market is slow to catch up here, so I'll gladly bet low on Westbrook's scoring total until it adjusts.

Reggie Jackson Over 2.5 turnovers (+120 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

While this is technically a bet against Jackson as a ball-handler and facilitator, it's also a wager on a sizable role for the 13-year veteran, who has been thrust into the starting lineup amid injuries and poor performances from Denver's youngsters.

After the team's 19-point loss in Houston on Friday, coach Michael Malone lit into his group and subsequently shortened the Nuggets' rotation two nights later against the San Antonio Spurs. That rotation clearly still features Jackson, who played 28 minutes on Sunday and has averaged nearly 30 minutes per night in 10 starts since point guard Jamal Murray's hamstring injury.

He's also averaging 2.0 turnovers in those 10 games, including a whopping 10 in his previous two games combined. He coughed it up four times in Sunday's win, but his contributions elsewhere — 20 points, seven rebounds, six assists — more than offset those miscues for the Nuggets.

With another start coming against his former team, this number feels too low for what should be a heavy workload for Jackson, especially with Murray, Nikola Jokic, and Aaron Gordon all out for Monday.
