It’s difficult to have too much faith in either team winning on Sunday. The Mystics have been the better squad throughout the season, but the Wings have been showing more promise lately.

Dallas earned a 79-71 home win over Washington when these two teams faced off in late June. A similar result now wouldn't be surprising.

Dallas rookie Paige Bueckers missed Friday’s loss against the New York Liberty with a back injury. Assuming she’s able to return on Sunday, I expect this line to move toward the Wings by tipoff.

Since Haley Jones joined the starting lineup on July 28, Dallas is 4-1 against the spread over the last five games. The Wings haven’t won many games due to their competition, as they’ve faced the New York Liberty three times. But they've been starting to demonstrate an identity around Bueckers.

On the other end, Washington traded away its top player in a move to miss the playoffs.

Since Brittney Sykes joined the Seattle Storm, the Mystics are averaging 70 points per game over their last two outings. They don’t boast the same offensive juice without Sykes, who got downhill while averaging 15.4 points per game for Washington.

Given the trajectory of both teams, I’ll side with Dallas to prevail at home.
