This is the quintessential buy-low spot for the Aces in many ways, as they're coming off back-to-back puzzling losses and have now dropped three of their last four games. There's only one problem: Our best sportsbooks didn't get the memo.
I was fully expecting Las Vegas to lay anywhere from 3 to 5 points against Minnesota, which profiles as an elite team by my latest WNBA power rankings. Instead, oddsmakers seem to be pricing this game based on the image of an Aces team that we simply haven't been seeing lately.
Meanwhile, since that 80-66 loss to Las Vegas in late May, the Lynx have posted the WNBA's best net rating of plus-19.4, which is a full 21.5 points better than the Aces (minus-2.1). Also, their only loss came by one point on the road.
I don't see this one getting out of hand, and an outright upset wouldn't be shocking.

Wilson has been on a historic scoring pace to open the 2024 season, even with the Aces struggling to string together victories.
After dropping 31 points against the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday, Wilson has scored 20-plus points in 14 consecutive games dating back to the 2023 season, which is already the longest streak in WNBA history. She's scored 28-plus points in six straight contests, including a 29-point effort against the Lynx.
It's risky to assume historic production will continue, but Wilson has attempted at least 17 shots in all nine games during 2024 and is shooting 53.5% over her last six games. She's also getting to the free-throw line 8.2 times per game, which includes a combined 25 trips in her last two outings.
