RSM Classic Picks, Odds & Favorites 2023: Strong Field in Georgia for Final Full Event of 2023

The final full-field event of the 2022-23 PGA Tour season takes place this week at Sea Island Golf Club in Georgia as we break down the odds from our best golf betting sites for our RSM Classic picks, with Ludvig Aberg set as the consensus betting favorite.

Ludvig Aberg, Cameron Young, Brian Harman, Russell Henley, and Corey Conners headline a very respectable field in attendance for the 2023 RSM Classic at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, GA. Harman, the 2023 Champion Golfer of the Year, is the highest-ranked golfer in the field at No. 9 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). However, it's Aberg who's set as the consensus betting favorite.

Canadian Adam Svensson is back to defend his 2022 title in the RSM Classic, but he'll be battling a much stronger 156-man field this week.

While this is the final full-field PGA Tour event until January, Tiger Woods' Hero World Challenge will occur in two weeks. That'll be followed by the first edition of the Grant Thornton Invitational in mid-December, as PGA Tour and LPGA pros will be paired up in a team event.

Harris English to win (+5500 via bet365)

English enters this week at No. 39 in the OWGR, making him the sixth-best golfer in the field by that measure. However, his +5500 odds to win outright have him sharing just the 22nd-best odds to win at bet365. Our other best sports betting sites have him priced at +5000, with Caesars offering the market-low of +4500, which bettors will need to avoid.

The Georgia native and graduate of the University of Georgia has plenty of experience at Sea Island's Seaside Course, with 26 competitive rounds played. In that time, he has averaged 0.62 true strokes gained on the field per round, with a T-6 finish as recently as 2021 and a T-29 showing last fall.

English has enjoyed a strong 2023 campaign after injuries derailed his last couple of seasons on the PGA Tour. He has finishes of second, third, and two other top-10s this calendar year. This will be his first competitive event since a T-10 result in the BMW Championship.

Across his last 16 measured rounds, English is gaining strokes in all key areas other than off the tee, but his relative lack of distance won't be as penalized here as he can rely on his strength in accuracy. English also ranks a respectable 53rd on the PGA Tour in birdie-or-better percentage from this week's key distance of 150-175 yards.

J.J. Spaun to finish top 10 (+450 via bet365)

Spaun finished T-16 and T-15, respectively, in the 2021 and 2022 editions of this event. With BetMGM offering odds as low as +375 for this pick, we're getting a nice boost in value courtesy of bet365 and FanDuel.

Spaun's coming off a T-67 finish in the World Wide Technology Championship but previously had a T-6 result against a stronger field in the Zozo Championship. He's in excellent form around the greens and with his irons. Our hope this week is that the familiar venue helps spark his ice-cold putting stroke that's been holding him back.

Corey Conners to be top Rest of the World (+400 via BetMGM)

The international contingent for the 2023 RSM Classic is quite weak outside of Ludvig Aberg as the consensus betting favorite. Canadian Corey Conners is fifth on our oddsboard and as low as third via Caesars to win outright with odds ranging from +1600 to +2500 to claim his third PGA Tour win.

This brought me to the top Rest of the World market, which has the Swedish Aberg removed from consideration. Conners' odds in this market range from +350 to the more attractive +400 from BetMGM and bet365 as the favorite.

Conners has three appearances at Sea Island with results of T-23, T-10, and T-22. The Canuck is 12th on the PGA Tour in birdie-or-better percentage from 150-175 yards and both his driver and irons were in excellent form across his last 12 measured rounds through the FedEx Cup playoffs.
