Presidents Cup Odds & Teams: Loaded Team USA the Heavy Favorite at Royal Montreal
Team USA remains the heavy betting favorite by the 2024 Presidents Cup odds with the tournament at Royal Montreal beginning Thursday.
Captains Jim Furyk and Mike Weir are making the final preparations ahead of Thursday's tournament-opening matches. Always the favorites by the futures odds at our best golf betting sites, Team USA's odds shortened when the two revealed their captain's picks.
Team USA has won each of the last nine editions of the Presidents Cup dating back to 2005.
A tie at Fancourt Hotel and Country Club in South Africa in 2003 is all that breaks up what would be a 10-event win streak. The International squad's last win was in 1998 at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia.
Our best sports betting sites aren't expecting that trend to stop this week.

Odds via our best sports betting sites as of Sept. 25 | π₯ = best available odds | βοΈ = worst available odds.
Team | BetMGM | Implied probability | Profit ($10 bet) |
---|---|---|---|
USA | -250 | 71.43% | $4 |
International | +260 | 22.78% | $26 |
Tie | +1400 | 6.67% | $140 |
Team USA is a heavy favorite with their most common -250 odds representing an implied win probability of 71.43% It would take a $25 bet to return a profit of $10 with an American victory in Montreal.
To lift the trophy
This betting market removes the chance of a tie, as a tie in the tournament will return the trophy to the Americans as the reigning Presidents Cup champions.
That pushes the odds further in Team USA's favor but without lengthening the odds for an Internationals victory.
Team | BetMGM | Implied probability | Profit ($10 bet) |
---|---|---|---|
USA | -357 | 78.12% | $2.80 |
International | +260 | 22.78% | $26 |

Top USA points scorer
Golfer | Odds (BetMGM) | Implied probability | Profit ($10 bet) |
---|---|---|---|
Scottie Scheffler | +400 | 20.00% | $40 |
Xander Schauffele | +500 | 16.67% | $50 |
Collin Morikawa | +600 | 16.67% | $60 |
Patrick Cantlay | +600 | 16.67% | $60 |
Sam Burns | +900 | 10.00% | $90 |
Wyndham Clark | +1100 | 8.33% | $110 |
Sahith Theegala | +1200 | 7.69% | $120 |
Max Homa | +1400 | 6.67% | $140 |
Tony Finau | +1400 | 6.67% | $140 |
Brian Harman | +1600 | 5.88% | $160 |
Keegan Bradley | +2000 | 4.76% | $200 |
Russell Henley | +2000 | 4.76% | $200 |
It's not surprising to see the top points scorer odds closely mirror the world golf rankings entering the tournament.
Though he (obviously) has the shortest odds, Scheffler seems the best bet in this market. The International side has no one close to matching him in the rankings, whereas volatility and variance could make things a little more even further down the board.
Burns (+900) also catches my eye as the last winner of the WGC: Match Play in 2023.
Top Internationals points scorer
Golfer | Odds (BetMGM) | Implied probability | Profit ($10 bet) |
---|---|---|---|
Hideki Matsuyama | +600 | 14.29% | $60 |
Adam Scott | +700 | 12.50% | $70 |
Sungjae Im | +700 | 12.50% | $70 |
Corey Conners | +750 | 11.76% | $75 |
Tom Kim | +750 | 11.76% | $75 |
Si Woo Kim | +850 | 10.53% | $85 |
Jason Day | +900 | 10.00% | $90 |
Min Woo Lee | +1100 | 8.33% | $110 |
Byeong Hun An | +1200 | 7.69% | $120 |
Christiaan Bezuidenhout | +1200 | 7.69% | $120 |
Mackenzie Hughes | +1400 | 6.67% | $140 |
Taylor Pendrith | +1400 | 6.67% | $140 |
The odds are much more even throughout the international lineup with nobody listed above +1400 while three Americans carry longer odds to lead their team. That's mostly the affect of Scheffler's presence for Team USA, but it also makes this a more entertaining betting market.
Byeong Hun An at +1200 is my favorite pick with a $10 bet returning a $120 profit. He's the sixth-best golfer on the team by the world rankings, but he's just 10th by the odds to lead the internationals in points.
