Will the battle between C.J. Stroud and Anthony Richardson live up to the hype when the Houston Texans take on the Indianapolis Colts?

Our best Texans vs. Colts player props focus on the stars.

Stroud is fresh off his Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign. He led the Texans to the playoffs and a postseason win and enjoyed two accomplished games against the Colts, and there’s no reason to think he won’t have similar success on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Richardson returns to the starting lineup after a rookie year cut short by injury.

Richardson had some electric moments when he was healthy, but will the mobile quarterback find a way to rack up yards in the season opener?

The Texans enter the contest as consensus favorites at our best NFL betting sites.

While not among the five Super Bowl odds favorites, the Texans, like a handful of teams featured in our Week 1 NFL predictions, have Super Bowl aspirations.

Texans vs. Colts player props: Sunday

Odds as of Saturday and subject to change.

NFL picks made Saturday; odds subject to change.

CJ Stroud Over 273.5 passing yards (-110)

Stroud’s first massive game as a pro came against the Colts. He threw for 384 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions in Week 2 last season.

Stroud eclipsed the 300-yard mark in five additional contests.

He hit the Over in one of two games against the Colts; his Under, in which he threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns, came in Week 18 and was primarily due to only 26 passing attempts.

I expect Stroud to have more passing attempts in Week 1, particularly with new weapon Stefon Diggs to target.

FanDuel is offering over 272.5 for -113.

While there isn’t much of a price difference between FanDuel and bet365, I will take the shorter odds even though it increases the required output by a yard. A winning $10 bet will yield a $9.09 profit.

Anthony Richardson Over 42.5 rushing yards (-110)

This is a phenomenal number for a quarterback who rushed for at least 35 yards in his first three games as a pro.

And remember, he ran the ball three times for 35 yards against the Texans in the first half before getting injured.

Richardson may look to run less this season because of the injuries he suffered during his rookie campaign, but a large part of what makes him so dynamic is his ability to run.

The Texans couldn’t stop him when he was healthy last season, and that shouldn't change this week.

The -110 being offered at bet365 is slightly better than the -113 at FanDuel and the -115 at BetMGM and DraftKings.

Caesars has his over at -125, which is by far the worst price. All of our best sports betting sites agree with the yardage total.

Best odds: -110 via bet365 | Implied probability: 52.38%

Michael Pittman Jr. (-110)

Richardson needs a receiver he can confidently rely on, and Pittman is the only player on the Colts who fits the bill.

In Richardson’s NFL debut, Pittman caught eight passes for 97 yards and one touchdown.

However, he struggled in Richardson’s only other full game when he caught just one pass for 15 yards against the Los Angeles Rams.

With Gardner Minshew throwing him the ball in for the most part against the Texans last season, Pittman finished with 100 combined yards.

He should be able to increase that total with his No. 1 quarterback dishing the biscuit.

The -110 odds at bet365 will profit $9.09 if it hits.
