One of the most bet novelty props annually for the Super Bowl is the color of the Gatorade bath for the winning head coach. I will break down my 2026 Super Bowl Gatorade color predictions of what will be poured over Mike Vrabel (Patriots) or Mike Macdonald (Seahawks).

The 2026 Super Bowl kicks off Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET (NBC) from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., and we'll have you covered with our Super Bowl predictions.

🔮 Super Bowl Gatorade color prediction: Blue (+300)

Blue is the primary shared by the Seahawks and Patriots. I believe we will have blue Gatorade on both sidelines, which puts this color in the best chance to be used for the Gatorade shower. From a practical perspective, blue Gatorade - like “Cool Blue” or “Glacier Freeze” - is a staple on NFL sidelines (as well as my refrigerator).

The cooler that’s closest or most full at the end of the game usually gets dumped, and because blue is so commonly stocked, it naturally has a higher likelihood of being used.

With blue being the shared color of both teams, and thus a likely candidate to be on both sidelines, I consider the +300 odds too long. Especially consider orange is +270 in the Gatorade color odds.

Gatorade color Odds
Yellow/Lime and green +250
Orange +270
Blue +300
Purple +600
Water/clear +800
Red/Pink +850

For most of the days leading up to the Super Bowl, orange was the favorite at +230 odds. That has now changed, and yellow/lime green has moved into the lead at +270 odds. Blue has held steady around +300, while the other color options are extreme long shots at +600 or longer.

📈 Gatorade color breakdown

🟡 Yellow/lime and green

Lemon-lime is one of the most common Gatorade flavors found on NFL sidelines. Equipment staffs order it in bulk, and because it’s a hydration staple, it’s often the cooler that gets grabbed in the chaos of the celebration. Across the past 15 - 20 Super Bowls, yellow or lime-colored Gatorade has been among the most frequently dumped colors. Bettors - and our best Super Bowl betting sites - often lean on this trend when setting and adjusting the odds.

The Gatorade color odds are set based on historical data and information regarding trends; our best NFL betting sites may know something when setting the price of +250 for yellow/lime and green.

🟠 Orange

Orange hit twice in the past 10 Super Bowls, with the Denver Broncos (Super Bowl 50) and Kansas City Chiefs (Super Bowl 54) dousing their respective head coach.. Bettors tend to anchor to what they’ve seen cash before. That betting volume alone can push orange to the top of the odds board.

I understand why people would back orange in this spot, but I’ll be placing a wager on a different color.

🔵 Blue

Blue has remained in between +250 and +300 since the Gatorade color odds were released. Over the last 10 years, blue has been the Gatorade shower color in 30% of Super Bowls - the highest-used Gatorade color over that span.

Both teams prominently feature blue in their uniforms - the Patriots have used blue for their Gatorade shower in two of their last three Super Bowl wins, and blue is a central color in both New England’s and Seattle’s team uniforms.
