The second-seeded Marquette Golden Eagles square off with the 10th-seeded Colorado Buffaloes, as we make our best Colorado-Marquette prediction and best bet based on the best March Madness odds.

After a thrilling first-round victory in March Madness, the No. 10 seed Colorado Buffaloes (26-10) are poised to take on the No. 2 seed Marquette Golden Eagles (26-9) in the NCAA Tournament's second round. The matchup is scheduled to begin at 12:10 p.m. ET on Sunday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, airing on CBS.

The Buffaloes scored 60 to win their First Four matchup, and then they outlasted the Florida Gators in a 102-100 thriller in Round 1 - the first tournament game to see both teams score 100 points since 2005. Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles used a huge second half to defeat the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and keep their Final Four odds alive.

As part of our March Madness predictions, here is our best Colorado-Marquette prediction and college basketball picks (odds via our best March Madness betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Colorado vs. Marquette odds

Colorado (10) vs. Marquette (2) prediction: South Region

Tristan da Silva Over 15.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -114 via FanDuel

The Buffaloes finished with five players in double figures against the Gators, so picking which one will enjoy a significant game against the Golden Eagles is tricky. But Tristan da Silva is off to a red-hot start in this tournament, so we like him to at least match the 17 he scored on Friday.

Da Silva has knocked down three 3-pointers in both of his tournament games, and he’s shooting 66.7% from beyond the arc. But he’s also been a beast inside the arc, making four two-pointers in each game, too.

The Golden Eagles struggled to defend the three against the Hilltoppers, especially during the first half. The Hilltoppers ended the game with eight made threes, and they could have capitalized on their opportunities for much more.

Da Silva is a matchup nightmare because of his ability to extend the floor. Though the price for his prop isn’t great at any of our best sportsbooks, he should hit his season average in a high-scoring contest.

Colorado vs. Marquette spread & Over/Under analysis

The total for this game opened at 147.5, and it hasn't moved despite overwhelming support from the public. After the way the Buffaloes played offense and defense against the Gators, it’s not surprising to see 72% of wagers backing the Over. Expect this number to get as high as 150 before tipoff.

The Golden Eagles opened as 3.5-point favorites, and the spread hasn't moved despite them getting 63% of the support from the public. Marquette didn’t look good for most of its Round 1 game, and the Golden Eagles will lose if they repeat that performance. But the Buffaloes are so inconsistent, it’s hard to trust them. Therefore, we expect this spread to stay right where it is currently.
