Boston looks to take a commanding lead in its first-round series against Toronto, as we offer our top Bruins vs. Maple Leafs predictions and expert picks based on the best NHL odds.

These two teams have alternated wins through the first three games of this series, with the Boston Bruins (47-20-15) taking a 2-1 lead over the Toronto Maple Leafs (46-26-10) ahead of Saturday's game.

Boston earned a resounding Game 1 win before Toronto rebounded with a tight 3-2 victory in Game 2, bolstering its Stanley Cup odds

Unfortunately, the Maple Leafs defend home ice in Game 3, and they'll try to even the series on Saturday when the puck drops at 8 p.m. ET (TBS, Sportsnet) from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ont.

Bruins vs. Maple Leafs predictions for Saturday

Max Domi Over 1.5 shots on goal ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Through three games this series, Max Domi has one goal, two assists, and 10 shots on goal. He had three in Game 1, two in Game 2, and a whopping five in Game 3 at home. That’s not too unusual for the winger who ended the regular season with Over 1.5 shots on goal in six of seven April games.

While Domi is only on the second power-play unit, that secondary group could see some action as the top fivesome continue to struggle. He’s gone Over 1.5 shots on goal in nine of his last 10 games overall, dating back to April 1.

I’d also consider Over 2.5 shots on goal at +150. He had 3-plus SOG in three of seven games to end the regular season, and has hit that in two of three games in this series.

William Nylander anytime goalscorer ⭐⭐⭐

All signs point to William Nylander returning to the lineup on Saturday night after missing the first three games of the series due to reported migraine issues. He was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, and should inject some energy into the Maple Leafs offense.

Nylander put up his second straight 40-goal season this year, and although he ended the season a bit cold, he had no problem getting right into things in last year’s playoffs. He had a goal in each of his first two games to help set the tone against the Lightning.

Best odds: +190 via Betway

Maple Leafs ML vs. Bruins ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Not only is Nylander slated to return on Saturday night, but Auston Matthews should be feeling a bit better as well after battling an illness and possibly food poisoning earlier in the week.

The Maple Leafs are getting some reinforcements for what is essentially a must-win home game on Saturday night. A 3-1 series deficit can be overcome, as we saw with the Florida Panthers last year, but heading back to Boston tied 2-2 would give the Leafs a lot more confidence.

The Leafs have had the better of the expected goals share at 5-on-5 (54.60% via Natural Stat Trick) and it’s only a matter of time before the power play connects. Take advantage of a low price on a desperate Leafs team at home.
