The sixth-seeded Clemson Tigers face off with the third-seeded Baylor Bears in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, as we make our best Clemson vs. Baylor prediction and best bet based on the best March Madness odds.

Following an impressive showing in the opening round, the No. 6 seed Clemson Tigers (22-11) are gearing up for a showdown against the No. 3 seed Baylor Bears (24-10) in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The matchup is scheduled to tip off at 6:10 p.m. ET at FedExForum in Memphis, with coverage airing on TNT.

While Clemson was the higher seed in their first matchup, the Tigers were underdogs against the No. 11 seed New Mexico Lobos. They ended up winning by 21 to set up a second-round test against the Bears, who had no problem against the Colgate Raiders with a 92-67 win in the opening round.

As part of our March Madness predictions, here is our best Clemson vs. Baylor prediction and college basketball picks (odds via our best March Madness betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Clemson vs. Baylor odds

Clemson (6) vs. Baylor (3) prediction: West Region

Ja’Kobe Walter Over 2.5 three-pointers made ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: +135 via bet365

The Bears don’t shoot the 3-pointer at a particularly high rate. However, this is going to be a very high-scoring game, and the Tigers are not good at defending the three. They rank 272nd in the nation in points allowed off 3-pointers with their opponents averaging 24.0 such points per game.

Walter isn’t the best 3-point shooter on Baylor, but he is the Bear who most consistently puts up shots from beyond the arc. He made three of his eight attempts in Round 1, and he’s made at least three shots from deep in three of his last four games.

For the season, he’s averaging 6.2 attempts per game, and that was largely against Big 12 defenses. In a faster-paced contest, he may attempt eight on Sunday. If he does, then we suspect he’s going to hit at least four.

DraftKings and bet365 are each offering great prices. We’d take this as low as +100, so to get the price at +130 or +135 is a steal. At +135, bet365 is saying there is just a 42.55% chance Walter hits this over. But in this matchup, those odds should be closer to 50%.

Clemson vs. Baylor spread & Over/Under analysis

The Bears opened as 4.5-point favorites and the spread has not moved despite 66% of bettors backing them to cover against the Tigers. This number could rise before tip-off, as oddsmakers may eventually feel pressured into backing the public’s strong support of Baylor.

The total for this game opened at 144.5, and it has already gone up to 145 at bet365. Both of these teams average over 77 points per game, and Baylor is 16th in the nation in field-goal percentage. After how good the Tigers looked in their opener, expect this number to continue to rise before tip-off.
