After losing to the Washington Mystics on Tuesday, the Atlanta Dream hit the road to face Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Thursday.

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever host the Atlanta Dream on Thursday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, as we offer our best Dream vs. Fever prediction and expert picks based on the best WNBA odds.

The Indiana Fever (3-10) own the second-worst record in the WNBA as we wrap up the first month of the season. They'll look to improve on that mark Thursday against the Atlanta Dream (5-5), with tipoff set for 7 p.m. ET from Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The only team worse than Indiana right now is the Washington Mystics, who own the longest WNBA championship odds in the league. But they just scored their first win against the Dream, who enter Thursday's contest as 2-point road favorites over the Fever across our best sports betting sites.

It doesn't help that Caitlin Clark, who entered the season among the favorites by the WNBA MVP odds, has struggled mightily out of the gate. For more ways to bet the Fever rookie, check out our Caitlin Clark odds and prop bets.

Dream vs. Fever predictions for Thursday

Fever +2.5 ⭐⭐⭐

By now, you're surely aware of the early-season struggles for the Fever, who own the worst net rating (-15.8) in the WNBA with just one home win in five tries.

That said, I'm not sure the Dream have earned the right to be road favorites in this one after what we've seen from them of late. Atlanta has been blown out in three of four games to open June, with the latest loss an 87-68 defeat to the previously winless Mystics - the only team ranked below Indiana in my WNBA power rankings.

It's a bit ironic that the Fever's last win came over Washington, and their last two losses came to the same teams that blew out the Dream earlier this month. These teams are probably closer to each other than these odds suggest, so gimme the points in a matchup that could go either way.

DraftKings is the only one of our best sportsbooks offering +2.5, with -115 odds returning $8.70 in profit on a $10 wager, per our odds converter. That extra cushion makes it easier to back the home 'dogs in this one.

Under 161.5 ⭐⭐⭐

Much has been made of the Fever's Swiss-cheese defense to this point in the season, with a defensive rating (111.7) more than eight points worse than anyone else. But the Dream's offense isn't exactly ripe to take advantage.

Atlanta enters Thursday ranked 11th in offensive rating (94.8) - one spot below Indiana (95.9) - after scoring a mere 68 points in Tuesday's loss to the Mystics. That marked its third game below 70 points in its last four tries, and it's scored fewer than 80 points in six of its last seven games.

Conversely, the Dream's defense has been a top-six unit this season and should frustrate Indiana with its size along the perimeter. With this total dealing at 160.5 or lower everywhere else, I'm intrigued by the Under at a slightly higher mark.

Caitlin Clark player props vs. Dream

Caitlin Clark Under 16.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Long gone are the days of Clark catching totals of 20.5 points, at least for the time being, as she finds herself in the biggest rut of her career.

Yes, she scored 30 points last Friday against the Mystics, but she's combined for just 24 points in her other three games in June with no more than 11 points in any of them. That's followed a reduction in her shot volume, as she's attempted 11 shots per game this month after averaging 13.6 attempts in her first nine starts.

Now she faces a tricky Dream defense that ranks sixth in efficiency (99.1) with the third-slowest pace (96.06) in the WNBA. With these +100 odds paying out 1-to-1 for every $1 wagered, this is a value too good to pass up.

Caitlin Clark Under 2.5 threes ⭐⭐⭐

This bet goes hand-in-hand with the one above, albeit at a slightly steeper price. But the logic is the same for fading Clark in what should be a tough matchup.

The rookie guard is already struggling with her shot, converting just 33% of her attempts from deep this season with 2.8 makes per game. She's fallen short of this prop total in three of her last four games and seven of 13 starts overall, and her five 3-point attempts on Monday were tied for her fewest all season.

Atlanta's defense is merely average against the deep ball, which is why I'm a little less bullish on this prop than the one above. Still, at these -105 odds, I like doubling down against Clark amid her tough start to June.
