Shohei Ohtani 50/50 Odds Today: Will The Megastar Homer or Steal vs. Angels?

Shohei Ohtani is attempting to become the only player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season. Will he add to either total against the Angels?

Shohei Ohtani put on a base-stealing clinic on Monday, and he's looking to add to his home run and stolen base totals when he makes his triumphant return to Anaheim.

The massive MLB MVP odds favorite stole three bags in the series finale in Arizona, and now he makes his return to Anaheim, where he spent the first six seasons of his MLB career as a member of the Angels.

With 50/50 in his crosshairs, Ohtani enters Tuesday's action with 44 homers and 46 steals, making him closer to the elusive milestone than any player before.

Will Ohtani remind Angels fans of what they had (and now miss) with another massive performance on Tuesday? Or will the Anaheim crowd have something to celebrate when the Los Angeles Dodgers roll into town?

Ohtani's home run odds shortened over the weekend, but they're back to nearly 3/1 thanks to Tuesday's matchup against Angels southpaw Reid Detmers.

The left-on-left matchup doesn't scare us, though, as Ohtani still has a very impressive 0.34 home run projection on Tuesday, the second-highest behind only Aaron Judge.

As a result, we're seeing considerable value on these +280 odds via FanDuel, which come with an implied probability of just 26.32%. A winning $10 wager would result in a cool $28 in profit.

Ohtani's home run and stolen base odds have essentially swapped of late, as it appears the megastar is determined to hit the 50-steal mark sooner rather than later.

His three steals on Monday showed exactly what he's capable of when you let Ohtani get going on the basepaths, and we could be in for a repeat performance on Tuesday.

However, his stolen base projection isn't quite as impressive as his one to go yard, and, as a result, the value is actually on the Under.

We're not going to recommend betting into -330 odds for him to go Under 0.5 stolen bases, so it's best to leave this market alone Tuesday.

Will Ohtani homer or steal today?

Prediction: Ohtani to hit a home run (+280)

Despite the fact that Ohtani has a tough matchup against a left-handed pitcher, we're still backing him to take Detmers deep on Tuesday.

The southpaw has had issues with the long ball this year, allowing 1.43 homers per nine innings. Additionally, left-handed hitters are slugging .500 against Detmers this season, and he's allowed four home runs to left-handers while registering only 16 2/3 innings worth of outs.

This is likely why Ohtani's home run projection is what it is, but our best sports betting sites haven't adjusted. Take advantage of these +280 odds, as the 26% implied probability is far too low.

Additionally, Pinnacle - which features one of the most respected trading teams in the sports betting industry, opened with an Ohtani homer priced at +266 but is now trading at +207.
