2024 Masters outright picks: Who'll win at Augusta National?

Xander Schauffele

Best odds: +1800 via DraftKings
Odds as of Monday, April 8. As of Tuesday morning, Schauffele's odds are at a high of +1400, and that warrants a pass.

Schauffele boasts an impressive track record at Augusta National, with three top-10 finishes in his last five visits and a solid T-10 placement in the 2023 U.S. Open last summer. Despite a missed cut in 2022, he bounced back to tie for 10th last year, showcasing an average true strokes gained of 1.79 per round at ANGC.

Currently ranked fifth in the OWGR, Schauffele has notched six top-10 finishes in eight events this year, indicating his strong form leading into the Masters. He excels in key stats at Augusta National, leading the PGA Tour in birdie-or-better percentage from 200-plus yards and 3-putt avoidance. With an impressive average total strokes gained per round of 2.86 over his last 16 rounds, Schauffele is a force to be reckoned with on the green.

According to Justin Ray of Twenty First Group, only Patrick Reed and Cameron Smith have tallied more birdies and eagles at ANGC than Schauffele in the past five years.

Jordan Spieth

Best odds: +2200 via DraftKings
As of Tuesday, Spieth's odds are up to a high of +2500 via DraftKings.

Spieth, enters Masters week at No. 18 in the OWGR, and golf fans were treated to the full Spiethian experience at TPC San Antonio. Spieth battled back from an opening round of 73 to finish T-10, largely thanks to a closing 69 in Round 4.

Spieth has been statistically strong this year while ranking right behind Schauffele in birdie-or-better percentage from 200-plus yards and ninth in 3-putt avoidance. His 1.30 SG: off-the-tee in the Valero Texas Open ranked fourth among everyone who made the cut.

Spieth's 2.81 strokes gained per round at ANGC lead the 2024 Masters field among everyone with at least 30 rounds played at the venue. His T-4 finish last year followed a missed cut in 2022 and was his fifth top-five finish in 10 trips, in addition to his 2015 victory.

There are certainly bets to make that won't be nearly as sweaty, but Spieth has finally shown signs of his elite form, and we know we can always expect his best at ANGC.

Shane Lowry

The 2019 Champion Golfer of the Year recorded his top Masters finish of T-3 in 2022 and followed that with a T-16 last April. Though the 2019 Open Championship was his last PGA Tour victory, he more recently won the DP World Tour's BMW PGA Championship in 2022.

The Irishman's top finishes this year include T-4 in the Cognizant Classic, third in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and T-19 in The Players Championship. He's averaged 1.13 strokes gained on the field across his 26 career rounds at ANGC, and he ranks fourth in this field in SG: approach across his last 20 measured rounds.

Lowry's odds are as low as +3500 at Caesars, and this +6000 ticket at DraftKings is a lingering outlier as of Tuesday morning.
