2024 Masters power rankings

10. Shane Lowry

The former Champion Golfer of the Year was in excellent form through the PGA Tour's Florida swing before heading back to the DP World Tour for a T-29 finish in the Porsche Singapore Classic. He has made four straight cuts at Augusta National, including a T-3 in 2022. and he ranks second to Scottie Scheffler in strokes gained: approach across his last 12 measured rounds.

Best odds: +5000 via DraftKings

9. Rory McIlroy

No potential Masters pick is as controversial as McIlroy, who missed the cut in 2023's first major. Though he's been priced among the top three favorites since the odds opened nearly a full year ago, the Northern Irishman has just one victory since October 2022, and his third-place finish in the Valero Texas Open was his best result in North America this year. Still, McIlroy showed greatly improved form with his irons and wedges last week after some consultation with famed golf coach Butch Harmon.

Best odds: +1100 via Caesars

8. Jordan Spieth

Spieth rebounded from back-to-back missed cuts to tie for 10th in the Valero Texas Open, and golf fans were treated to the full experience that comes with the former World No. 1.

Despite his lackluster finishes, the former Masters winner has remained in strong statistical form, and we're particularly intrigued by his ranks in birdie-or-better percentage from 200-plus yards, and 3-putt avoidance.

Best odds: +2200 via DraftKings

7. Joaquin Niemann

Not otherwise exempt, Niemann was extended a special invitation into the Masters field after winning December's Australian Open and two of the first three events of 2024 on the LIV Golf Invitational Series. The 25-year-old Chilean finished T-16 in last year's Masters, his best result in four trips to Augusta National.

Best odds: +2500 via bet365

6. Wyndham Clark

Nobody has won the Masters in their professional debut at Augusta National since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979, but the 30-year-old Clark seems like he could be an exception to the trend. Clark's first three professional victories came between May 2023 and February 2024 and included the 2023 U.S. Open in what was his first time making the cut in that event.

Clark also tied for second in the 2024 Players Championship, and there are no obvious weaknesses in his game right now.

Best odds: +4000 via bet365

5. Hideki Matsuyama

Matsuyama ended a two-year winless drought with a victory in February's Genesis Invitational. That win in a Signature Event was fueled by a final round of 62 to win by three strokes. But Matsuyama has also finished T-12 or better in his ensuing three events, and the 2021 Masters champion has three additional finishes of T-16 or better in his last four trips to ANGC.

Best odds: +2200 via DraftKings

4. Jon Rahm

Rahm opened as the betting favorite to repeat as the Masters champion in the immediate aftermath of his 2023 victory. Rahm could not claim another victory in 2023, and his departure for LIV Golf early in 2024 has seen his odds rise while out of the public spotlight. This may help make him a slightly less popular pick than the other names at the top of the board this week.

Best odds: +1200 via FanDuel

3. Brooks Koepka

Last year, Koepka entered the Masters off a victory in LIV Golf's Orlando event. He went on to tie for second in the Masters before winning his third PGA Championship a month later. While he's coming off a T-45 finish in the LIV Golf Miami event last week, we know where his attention is focused and that we'll get his best golf this week.

Best odds: +1800 via bet365

2. Xander Schauffele

Schauffele is my favorite Masters outright pick this week. A three-time top 10 finisher in the Masters, Schauffele ranks second to Scheffler in strokes gained: total since Jan. 1, while leading the PGA Tour in Augusta National's key stats of 3-putt avoidance and birdie-or-better percentage from 200-plus yards.

Best odds: +1800 via Caesars

1. Scottie Scheffler

Scheffler, the 2022 Masters champion, hadn't won on the PGA Tour since early 2023 while battling putting issues. He then won the Arnold Palmer Invitational and defended his Players Championship victory in back-to-back weeks before a runner-up finish in the Texas Children's Houston Open.

The No. 1 player in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) is the rightful betting favorite this week, but he'll be the most popular pick in Masters pools and his odds of +400 make him a prohibitive bet in this elite field.

Best odds: +400 via BetMGM
