While we're quickly closing in on the Olympic break, I still have 10 games to choose from on Wednesday for my NHL anytime goal scorer predictions today.

That includes a five-star play on Connor McDavid against an opponent he knows well, while also backing the league's two hottest goal scorers.

Would it surprise you to read that Connor McDavid owns the Battle of Alberta? Probably not, and that's why he's my best anytime goal scorer pick today versus the Flames.

He's lit the lamp 31 times in his career against Calgary, the most against any opponent. It's the perfect matchup for us to get a focused McDavid in his final contest before shipping out to Italy for the Winter Games.

Cole Caufield (Canadiens) anytime goal (+150) 

Cole Caufield has one last chance to show Team USA's decision-makers that they made a brutal mistake by leaving him off this year's Olympic squad.

The red-hot Canadiens winger has been shooting the puck extremely confidently, with 11 goals across his previous nine games. He has another favorable matchup tonight against a Jets squad that's allowed four goals in two of their last three games. I'm backing him at DraftKings' +150 odds.

Kirill Kaprizov (Wild) anytime goal (+115) 

Kirill Kaprizov has been one of the league's hottest goal scorers, lighting the lamp in five of his last six appearances.

He's also found the back of the net in three of his last four games against Nashville, a team that has cratered defensively of late. The Predators have allowed an average of four goals per game over their last 10, the third-worst mark in the league.

That all adds up to a strong four-star play on Kaprizov. Our Gary Pearson backs the Wild star to tally at least two points as part of his best NHL player props today.

🔒 Safest goal scorer pick

Nathan MacKinnon (Avalanche) anytime goal (-140) 

Nathan MacKinnon, the NHL leader in goals this season, has scored nine goals over his last 10 meetings with the Sharks. That includes a goal in three straight games against San Jose.

This is a safe pick but not one of my favorites today due to how short MacKinnon's odds are (-140 at FanDuel).
