There’s been a lot of attention on Bedard’s shot volume through his first two games, and for good reason. He’s registered 11 shots and 18 attempts, and as noted, his shot total won’t touch down at 2.5 again for the foreseeable future.
He’s also a proven playmaker, though, and pivoting to the +150 bet365 odds for him to register an assist aligns with my projection of 0.71 assists for Bedard on Saturday. This is a fair price.

Bedard has averaged 4:51 of power-play time through the first two games of the season, and the Montreal Canadiens took four minor penalties and allowed two shorthanded goals across just 5:31 on the penalty kill against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday.
There’s the potential of Bedard picking up a power-play helper to cash both these bets, and it’ll also be a profitable night if just one of them hits.
I have Bedard projected for 0.44 power-play points against the Habs and would price this Over at +256. The difference in the numbers is a positive expected value of 5%.
