Pacers vs. Raptors prediction

RJ Barrett Over 23.5 points (-111 via Betway) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Since being acquired from the New York Knicks, RJ Barrett has injected some offensive life into the Raptors. The former Duke Blue Devil leads the Raptors in points per game (21.3), and Toronto looked lost without him in the back half of March. In his three games since returning to the lineup, Barrett is averaging 25.3 points and taking on a larger role.

With both Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley out for this matchup with the Pacers, it will be on Barrett to exploit one of the league's worst defenses. The Pacers are 24th in defensive rating (119.5) and allowing the fourth-most points per game in the NBA (120.2). Indiana has been particularly bad inside the arc, where it allows opponents to shoot 56% and gives up the second-most 2-pointers per game in the league (33.8).

That bodes well for Barrett, who leads the Raptors with 6.8 made 2-pointers per game and shoots 59.4% from two. The Pacers are also a foul-prone team, putting opponents on the line more frequently than any other franchise (25.9) - Barrett can take advantage there, as well, with his team-leading 5.1 free-throw attempts.

To make it even sweeter, Indiana gives up the fifth-most points per game to small forwards (22.42) and the most to power forwards (26.42), so it almost doesn't matter where Barrett plays.

The -111 odds from Betway imply a 52.61% probability Barrett hits the Over, according to our odds calculator - a $10 wager on these odds would payout $19.01.

Tyrese Haliburton Over 10.5 assists (-111 via Betway) ⭐⭐⭐

While the Pacers' defense has been putrid for much of the season, they remain the No. 6 seed in the East thanks to their explosive offense led by All-Star Tyrese Haliburton. Indiana is first in the NBA in points per game (122.7) thanks to Haliburton's playmaking ability, and he leads the league in assists per game (10.9).

With the Raptors down Barnes, Quickley, and Jakob Poeltl, Haliburton and Co. are poised for a field day against the Raptors. Toronto is 26th in defensive rating (120.6) and allows the fourth-most assists per game in the NBA (28.5) and the second-most to point guards (9.75). That pace has only picked up in April, with Toronto giving up 31.3 assists per game over its last four.

Even as Haliburton's scoring has dropped off down the stretch this season, he still been picking up a plethora of apples with at least 11 in two of his last four games - he's also averaging 11.6 assists in three games against Toronto this season. That's why the line is as high as 10.5 at Betway, but we're more than comfortable taking the Over at -111 odds with a $10 bet leading to a $9.01 profit.

Pascal Siakam Over 0.5 made 3-pointers (-125 via Betway) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

In his third game against the Raptors since being shipped from Toronto to Indiana, Pascal Siakam can continue to dominate his former team. In his previous two games against Toronto, Siakam has hit at least one 3-pointer in each game and is averaging two made threes on 5.5 attempts.

Although not the most frequent 3-point shooter (2.5 attempts per game for Indiana), Siakam is efficient hitting 37.5% from behind the arc. He's made at least one 3-pointer in three of his last four games and can capitalize on a Toronto defense that's allowing the fourth highest 3-point percentage in the league (37.8%).

We're happy taking this prop at such short odds because the Raptors allow the sixth most 3-pointers per game in the NBA to power forwards (2.55). The -125 odds from Betway imply a 55.56% probability that Siakam hits at least one 3-pointer with a $10 wager paying out $18.
