The Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks have already played twice this season, with each team winning on its home court. Can the Hawks become the first team to beat the Bucks in Milwaukee this season? Read on for our top Hawks vs. Bucks NBA picks and predictions.

Both the Hawks and Bucks lost two of their last three games, yet they remain two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks will be without Bogdan Bogdanovic on Monday, but their injury report is much smaller than that of the Bucks.

The Bucks will be without Pat Connaughton, Jrue Holiday, and Khris Middleton, but they will have Giannis Antetokounmpo and Grayson Allen back after they both missed Friday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Here are our Hawks vs. Bucks NBA picks for Monday (odds via PointsBet, DraftKings Sportsbook, and BetMGM; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Hawks vs. Bucks Odds

Hawks vs. Bucks Odds Analysis

The Bucks opened as 4-point favorites, and the line has moved at BetMGM while staying put everywhere else. Currently, BetMGM has the line at Hawks +4.5, which is in line with the overwhelming support the short-handed Bucks are receiving, according to Pregame.com.

The total opened at 225.5, and bettors are less decisive about which side they like. As of Monday morning, 76% of cash is on the Under, but 52% of tickets are on the Over. The total has stayed at 225.5 everywhere except PointsBet, where it has gone up to 226.

Hawks vs. Bucks Picks

  • ATS: Hawks +4.5 (-110 via BetMGM) ★★★★
  • Over/Under: Under 226 (-107 via PointsBet) ★★★
  • Prop: Trae Young Over 26.5 points (-115 via DraftKings) ★★★

Hawks vs. Bucks ATS Pick

Hawks +4.5 (-110) ★★★★

One week ago, the Hawks handed the Bucks their first loss of the season with point guard Trae Young sitting on the bench. Monday, they have a very good chance of handing the Bucks their first home loss of the season.

The Bucks are dealing with many injuries, and though they get Giannis back, there are questions about whether he is 100% healthy or not. Additionally, the last time these two teams met, the Hawks held Giannis to his second-lowest scoring total of the season and just seven rebounds—matching his season low.

With the Hawks at almost full strength, and the Bucks playing with another variation on the lineup they expected this season, Atlanta should cover this small spread, and it may even come away victorious.

Hawks vs. Bucks O/U Pick

Under 226 (-107) ★★★

The Over is 8-5 in Hawks’ games this season, but it is just 4-8 in games played by the Bucks. Giannis could score in the mid-30s and really push the total close to the Over, but all signs are pointing to an Under.

The Over and Under split in the previous two meetings between these two teams. However, in the first matchup, the Bucks were at near full strength when they scored 123 points. They failed to score 100 points in two of their last three games, and they are allowing the second-fewest points per game this season.

The Hawks are allowing 113.6 points per game, but they have held two of their previous four opponents under 100. They are averaging 116 points per game against Milwaukee this season while allowing an average of 110.5. The Bucks should score below that average with the lineup they are putting on the court Monday.

Hawks vs. Bucks Prop Pick

Young Over 26.5 points (-115) ★★★

In his only game against the Bucks this season, Young scored a season-high 42 points on 15-for-32 shooting. After that game, he went through a serious slump, but he is slowly working his way back to being a legitimate scoring threat.

Young scored 26 and 27 in the Hawks’ most recent two games, which both came against the Philadelphia 76ers. Amazingly, he put up those totals despite relatively bad shooting nights. In the 26-point performance, he had one of his worst shooting performances of the season, making just 33.3% of his shots and 25% of his 3-pointers.

Just because the Bucks are short-handed doesn’t mean they won’t keep this game tight. Look for Young to be the Hawks’ go-to player when they need a bucket and expect Young to deliver.
