💰 Best Cavaliers vs. Pistons prop bet
Follow all of our NBA analysis and expert predictions this season.
Donovan Mitchell Under 25.5 points (-114)
I can’t bring myself to bet the Over on Mitchell’s points when the Under has hit in each of his last six games. And it’s not even close - he hasn’t scored 25+ points since Game 2 of the first round.
Mitchell criticized the referees after Game 1, but there’s no reason to expect that to lead to any favorable whistle moving forward. Nothing has fundamentally changed since Tuesday, so there’s little justification for backing the Over.
DraftKings has his Under 25.5 points at -114, but this bet is good up to -135 on the best sports betting sites.
🏀 More NBA player props
I feature Donovan Mitchell, LeBron James, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in my NBA player props tonight.
🔥 More Cavaliers vs. Pistons prop picks
The Pistons have the fourth-shortest odds to win the NBA Finals.
Duncan Robinson Over 2.5 three-pointers made (-137)
I’ve been riding the Over on Robinson’s 3-point prop - here and here, for example - and it has cashed in six of his eight playoff games.
What’s even more encouraging is that he’s attempted at least eight threes in three straight games. The Pistons have been leaning into the sharpshooter lately, going 4-0 in the playoffs when he attempts eight or more shots from deep.
Robinson Over 2.5 three-pointers made is -137 at DraftKings, but I'd be comfortable playing this up to -155 on the best sports betting apps.
🚀 Cavaliers vs. Pistons same-game parlay
The spread at 3.5 is essentially a 50-50 proposition at this point, and the edge on Mitchell Under 24.5 points is large enough that it can be parlayed with almost any 50-50 bet (at -110 odds or greater) and still retain value.
One option is pairing it with the Cavaliers’ spread to boost the odds with something negatively correlated. Bet365 prices this parlay at +360, while FanDuel offers +318.

💡 How I'm betting Cavaliers vs. Pistons: NBA Playoffs Game 2 strategy
The No. 1 thing I would recommend to recreational bettors heading into Game 2 is not to be contrarian. We have a strong data point for this matchup - these teams just played each other two days ago - and since the game was close down the stretch, it’s unlikely either team will drastically change its game plan.
We’ve seen Mitchell struggle compared to his regular-season numbers, and we’ve seen Robinson launch from deep recently - both trends are likely to continue today.
