LeBron James Over 18.5 points (-112)

The betting market assumes James will score fewer points with Luka Doncic back in the lineup - which is true - but this line is an overreaction. James has scored 20 or more points in three of his last five games alongside Doncic.

While he scored just 13 and 17 points in his last two games with Doncic, he shot 12 of 30 from the field, including 1 of 6 from beyond the arc - it’s unlikely he continues shooting that poorly. DraftKings lists this prop at -112, but I would play it up to -130.

The Celtics have the sixth-shortest odds to win the NBA Finals this season.

Jaylen Brown Under 29.5 points (-123)

Brown has started to cool off after averaging 29.2 or more points in each of the last two months. He’s averaging 27.5 in February and has scored 29 or fewer points in four consecutive games.

It’s not necessarily due to poor shooting - he is shooting just 26.5% from beyond the arc this month - but rather that he’s become less aggressive, attempting 20 or fewer shots in back-to-back games. The best widely available odds are Under 29.5 (-123) at DraftKings, but I would still play Under 28.5 (-125 or greater).

My bankroll strategy is to treat one unit as 1 percent of the money I’ve set aside exclusively for sports betting.

I bet to win 1 unit on each of these wagers, as I’m confident directionally in these plays, but the numbers aren’t far off from where I’d price them. If larger edges were available, I would consider risking up to 2.5 units per bet.
