The Boston Celtics will advance to the conference finals if they defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5, and we're offering our top Cavaliers vs. Celtics player props for Wednesday's contest based on the best NBA odds.

Favored by the NBA championship odds, the Boston Celtics took a substantial step toward the next round after a dogged and determined 109-102 road victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday. The victory moved them to 3-1 in the series, pushing Cleveland to the brink of elimination.

Across our best sports betting sites, the Celtics are 15.5-point favorites for Game 5, which tips off at 7 p.m. ET (TNT) on Wednesday. With the Cavaliers now facing elimination, they will head back to TD Garden in Boston, where the Celtics had an impressive 37-4 regular-season record.

Jayson Tatum delivered a stellar performance in Game 4 with 33 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists, cementing his place atop the 2024 NBA Finals MVP odds. Jaylen Brown was also on fire with 27 points and eight rebounds.

To accompany our Mavericks vs. Thunder player props, here are our best Cavaliers vs. Celtics player props and NBA picks (odds via our best NBA betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Editor's note: Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell is expected to miss Wednesday's game due to his lingering calf strain.

Cavaliers vs. Celtics prop bet predictions for Wednesday

Donovan Mitchell Under 28.5 points ⭐⭐⭐

Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell has been one of the few bright spots for Cleveland against Boston, scoring 33 points on 12-of-22 shooting in Game 3. He was a minus-10 in the contest, the best mark among Cleveland's starters. But he missed Game 4 with a calf strain and Cleveland fell down 3-1 in the series.

If Mitchell plays in Game 5, this prop is more about the value we're getting with the total and odds attached to the Under rather than the player associated with them.

All of our other best sports betting apps have Mitchell's total set at 27.5 points, with the Under juiced to nearly this same level. If do you want to play the Under 27.5 points, BetRivers does offer +100 odds, but I'd rather take the additional point.

Another indicator that we're getting good value on this number is the fact that Pinnacle - which features one of the most respected trading teams in the sports betting industry - has its Under 27.5 juiced to -118, a price barely longer than the one we're getting on Under 28.5.

Jayson Tatum Under 5.5 assists ⭐⭐⭐

Now, for some plus-money bets.

Tatum has hovered right around this number throughout this second-round series, sandwiching two games with six assists each between two featuring five dimes. Therefore, these +102 odds are showing good value when you consider we're backing the Under on a total Tatum has cleared in only half of the games against the Cavaliers this series.

The rest of our best sportsbooks are hovering around -115, and Pinnacle is at -128 after opening at -105 (a price already shorter than this one at DraftKings).

Additionally, Pinnacle's Under was as short as -137 before some buyback on the Over, though that was likely the result of that price being far too long. That's not a problem we need to worry about when the Under is priced at +102.

Jaylen Brown Under 6.5 rebounds ⭐⭐⭐

As we mentioned above, Brown hauled in eight rebounds in Game 4, and that followed a Game 3 effort in which he collected nine boards. However, we're betting on his rebounds Under specifically because of those games, not in spite of them.

Brown averaged only 5.5 rebounds during the regular season, and that's likely what his total would be trading at if not for his last two big games. On top of the inflated total, these odds are also far too long.

The rest of our sites with the best sportsbook promos are hovering around +105 to back Brown's rebounds Under. Additionally, Pinnacle is at -112 after opening at +114.

Another reason I like both Brown's and Tatum's Unders is that the Celtics are 15.5-point home favorites, and they could easily beat the Cavaliers by even more than that in this elimination game.

If the Celtics are up big in the fourth quarter, you'll likely see Tatum and Brown resting on the bench. That's been baked into the odds at most of our other best live betting sites, but we've managed to find rogue prices that are far too long.
