Two preseason National League favorites meet on Saturday night as the Atlanta Braves (14-17) host the Los Angeles Dodgers (22-10) at Truist Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET (FOX), and we're making our Dodgers vs. Braves prediction.

Atlanta is a small -112 moneyline favorite at most of our best MLB betting sites, despite going 0-4 against Los Angeles this year. Our prediction agrees with the oddsmakers and finds value with the home team.

As of Saturday morning, the Dodgers are favored to beat the Braves in today's MLB matchup at 7:15 p.m. ET from Truist Park in Atlanta. The Braves are still looking for their first win of the season against the Dodgers, and I’m predicting Atlanta will beat the Dodgers as -105 moneyline underdogs.

Atlanta gets its first look at L.A.’s top young hurler Roki Sasaki, as the righty didn't pitch in the first series between these teams. Sasaki is among the MLB Rookie of the Year odds favorites in the NL.

He's still searching for his first win after six starts. While his ERA is a respectable 3.55, his other metrics leave much to be desired. Sasaki ranks in the 15th percentile or lower in hard-hit rate allowed, chase percentage, and walk rate. Those are all significant reasons why his expected ERA (5.49) is much higher than Sasaki's actual ERA.

On the other side, Braves righty Spencer Schwellenbach entered his last start with a 3.2 fWAR, which was 14th-best out of 99 qualified starting pitchers since making his debut. He's also difficult to prepare for right now, as Schwellenbach is one of eight starting pitchers using at least six different pitches 9% of the time this season.
