š° Best NRFI bets today (Friday, June 26)
Reds vs. Pirates NRFI (-130) - 6:40 p.m. ET
- Andrew Abbott (3.83 ERA) vs. Paul Skenes (2.86 ERA)
- NRFI records: Reds (41-38) vs. Pirates (39-42)
Abbott vs. Skenes? Sign me up as part of our best NRFI bets today. The name value is there, but the numbers back us up, too. Over 51 plate appearances against Abbott, the Pirates own just a .207 xBA - if we can get past hot-hitting Bryan Reynolds (.241 xBA) in the first frame, we're well on our way to cashing this play. On the other side is a man who needs no introduction - Skenes is punching out the Reds at an incredible 41% clip across 72 plate appearances against him. Yes, those are the best K numbers I've ever seen against a specific team. I'd price this closer to -150 betting odds - let's ride.

Cubs vs. Brewers NRFI (-130) - 7:45 p.m. ET
- Colin Rea (4.99 ERA) vs. Jacob Misiorowski (1.45 ERA)
- NRFI records: Cubs (49-32) vs. Brewers (39-39)
Speaking of strong, young arms - Misiorowski might just be your NL Cy Young odds winner when all is said and done this year. He, too, has the numbers against the Cubs to back up our NRFI bets today. Striking Chicago out at a 34% clip, he's also limiting them to a .160 xBA and .224 xwOBA - that feels like three outs to me. Rea is where things could get a bit hairy. The top-three hitters are a combined 7-for-16 against Rea - not the numbers we generally love to see, but when we're getting three auto-outs from the Miz, we'll take our chances. Let's sweep the board.

Follow all of our MLB analysis and expert predictions for baseball season.
An NRFI (No Run First Inning) bet carries high variance, meaning success requires a disciplined, daily dive into the data. Before placing a wager, run through a strict checklist: analyze how the starting pitcher matches up against the top three hitters in the lineup, track underlying metrics like strikeout rates (K%) and expected batting averages (xBA), and review recent team-specific first-inning scoring trends. Because a single mistake or lucky hit can ruin the bet instantly, always use this daily routine to guide your wagers and scale your unit sizing accordingly to protect your bankroll.
