The MLB landscape has changed significantly since the season began. Once viewed as the third-best team in their own division, the Tampa Bay Rays now own baseball's best record. Can they keep up this incredible pace? Here's our look at the 2023 MLB best record odds from our best sports betting apps.

Tampa Bay was utterly dominant through the first quarter of the MLB regular season, but it's the Atlanta Braves who now pace the league in wins.

Meanwhile, the Texas Rangers have surprised many as the leaders of the AL West.

With that in mind, here is our look at the MLB best record odds for the 2023 campaign, and our top picks (odds via our best MLB betting sites).

MLB best record odds analysis

Among our best sports betting apps, only DraftKings and bet365 offer this market.

Six of the top 10 teams on the oddsboard play in the American League, with four of them residing in the AL East. The Rays were the first team to 50 wins as a result of their incredibly strong start to the season. However, it's the Braves who are the favorites now following their stretch of absurd play.

The Los Angeles Dodgers own the second-shortest odds among NL teams, while the Orioles appear to be No. 2 in the AL.

MLB best record odds 2023: Favorite

Atlanta Braves (-330 via DraftKings)

I bet the Braves to own baseball's best regular-season record at +600 before the campaign began, so these odds represent a steep decline from the best preseason price. It feels difficult to buy the Braves still now that they're trading at heavy minus money.

Atlanta owns the best record in baseball to this point despite already dealing with a handful of injuries. The Braves are playing some of the best baseball we've seen from any team during the last handful of years, and they look unstoppable as currently constructed. You can bet they'll make improvements ahead of the trade deadline too.

MLB best record odds 2023: Contender

Baltimore Orioles (+5000 via bet365)

The Orioles continue to call up their prospects, signaling that the organization believes that any player who can help the team is deserving of playing in the majors.

The one big problem Baltimore faces is its pitching, but it's very possible the team improves upon that with some trades ahead of the deadline. This is a team on the rise, and it could surprise many by finishing atop the AL East.

MLB best record odds: Long shot

Texas Rangers (+8000 via DraftKings)

The Rangers have arguably been the second-best team in baseball thus far this season. They own the second-best run differential, rank first in hitting fWAR and 10th in pitching fWAR, and they've done so despite being without All-Star shortstop Corey Seager for around 30 games.

Texas also has a point to prove after many doubted whether the organization's commitment to spending big on flashy free agents would actually make the team any better. It turns out that paying good players generally leads to winning games (who would have thought?).

The Rangers are trading at long odds when you consider how dominant they've been, so let's take advantage of this price.

MLB best record odds 2023: Fade

New York Yankees (+8000 via DraftKings)

Are the Yankees even good? They rank just inside the top 20 in hitting and pitching fWAR. They also own the 15th-best run differential in baseball. However, for whatever reason, they're trading at relatively short odds.

The Yankees are also without Aaron Judge for the foreseeable future, and he's responsible for 2.8 of New York's total 9.6 batter fWAR.

New York hasn't been especially impressive through its first 91 games, and most indicators suggest it'll be even worse going forward.

Best regular-season record FAQs

When will the best regular-season record be decided?

The team with the most wins after every team completes all 162 games will be determined as having the best regular-season record. If there's a tie, the team with the better head-to-head record will be deemed to have the best record. If that doesn't provide a resolution, the team with the better intradivision record will come out on top. There are further tiebreakers if those first two don't provide a resolution.

Who owned the best regular-season record in 2022?

The Los Angeles Dodgers owned the best regular-season record in 2022 at 111-51.
