Missouri vs. Texas A&M Prediction, Picks & Odds: Week 6

We're expecting the Tigers to take advantage of the bye week ahead of a trip to Kyle Field to face the Aggies on Saturday.

The "12th Man" could be riled up on Saturday morning in College Station after the soundbite vigilantes took the innocuous words of Missouri quarterback Brady Cook and turned them into bona fide bulletin board material for Texas A&M.

But if the Tigers have their way as we expect in our Missouri vs. Texas A&M prediction, Cook and Co. could exploit the Aggies’ pass defense to quiet the noise and remain in the driver’s seat in the College Football Playoff odds.

Along with the rest of our SEC predictions, here is our preview of Saturday's showdown as part of our college football Week 6 predictions.

College football picks based on the odds from our best college football betting sites. Odds subject to change.

Missouri vs. Texas A&M against the spread prediction: Week 6

Missouri to cover the spread: +2.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Missouri vs. Texas A&M opening odds:

  • Missouri: +4.5 (-115)
  • Texas A&M: -4.5 (-105)

Neither Texas A&M nor Missouri has been particularly stout against the spread, but the Aggies have stood out in a negative way with a 1-4 ATS record. The Tigers are 2-2 ATS, failing to cover massive numbers in consecutive tight wins over Power Four opponents leading into their bye.

Think you’re a playoff team? Show me

The Aggies haven’t had a bye yet, while Missouri was able to use its bye to prepare for its first road test and arguably its most important game of the year.

With a daunting road game in Tuscaloosa looking like a tough task on paper, Missouri needs a win Saturday to control its path toward at least n 11-1 record - and, by extension, a possible playoff bid amid an otherwise reasonable schedule.

Many pundits nationally consider Mizzou’s top-10 ranking to be empty after a near-disastrous loss to Vanderbilt at home. If Missouri is still the team it came into the year expecting to be, it will come out of the bye with a more polished passing attack against an Aggie defense allowing 234.0 passing yards per game (81st in FBS).

Meanwhile, A&M’s likely starter at QB, Marcel Reed, is a mobile threat similar to what Missouri has weathered the storm against in recent weeks (Vandy’s Diego Pavia, Boston College’s Thomas Castellanos).

With that experience, the Tigers should have a game plan ready to contain Reed and force him to beat them with his arm.

We’re taking the 2.5 points with Mizzou with -110 odds via Caesars, but BetMGM’s +115 moneyline odds are the best on the board for bold Missouri bettors.

Missouri vs. Texas A&M prop pick for Week 6

Our NEW college football player prop odds tool can help you find the best odds on any market across legal sportsbooks in your area!

Luther Burden anytime touchdown scorer (+110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Burden is one of the preeminent playmakers in the nation. Even during a sluggish start to the season for the Missouri passing offense, he has impacted every game.

The Tigers star has scored in all four games played this season, racking up five total touchdowns. Because Texas A&M’s defense is more susceptible to the pass than the run, the Tigers could be more reliant on Burden’s contributions than usual in this matchup.

That could especially be the case with sophomore deep threat Marquise Johnson listed on the official injury report as questionable.

Typically, we’d be hesitant to lay the juice betting on a Burden touchdown despite his success rate so far this season. For example, his anytime TD odds are -143 at Caesars, where the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.

We’re getting a gift with these plus-money odds from BetMGM, however, so we’re eager to bet Burden at +110 to find the end zone for the fifth straight week.
