While the College Football Playoff odds are not yet available, it's not hard to figure out which programs are likely to lead them for the 2026-27 season.

Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Texas are atop the college football national championship odds and expected to open as the CFP odds favorites this season.

With new changes to the CFP format, the Fighting Irish are in an especially strong spot to make the CFP after missing it last season. Among the new rules being implemented for this season is the "Notre Dame clause," which makes Marcus Freeman's program an automatic qualifier as long as it's ranked in the top 12 on the selection committee's final CFP rankings.
