Memphis vs. UNLV Player Props & Best Bets: Week 0

Marcus Stokes and Dallan Hayden are set to lead the Memphis offense against a weak UNLV rush defense.

My best Memphis vs. UNLV player props for the Week 0 clash at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas focus on Dallan Hayden, Taeshaun Lyons, and Marcus Stokes. With the total set at 56.5, oddsmakers are clearly expecting some offensive firepower. However, I don't think every offensive player is in for a great game, as I highlight when explaining why I'm taking Lyons to go under the receiving total oddsmakers set for him.

UNLV is favored by 4.5 points in Saturday's 10 p.m. ET game. The contest will air on FOX.

🏈 Memphis vs. UNLV player props: Week 0

Player Prop bet Best odds Confidence
Dallan Hayden, RB, Memphis Over 59.5 rushing yards -110 via bet365 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Taeshaun Lyons, WR, UNLV Under 52.5 receiving yards -115 via bet365 ⭐⭐⭐
Marcus Stokes, QB, Memphis Anytime touchdown scorer +130 via FanDuel ⭐⭐⭐

💰 Memphis vs. UNLV best prop bet: Dallan Hayden Over 59.5 rushing yards (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hayden hasn't had many opportunities in his four-year career. However, he's averaging 4.5 yards per carry, and he's averaged at least 4.7 yards per carry in three of his four seasons. Now, he joins a Memphis offense that ranked 31st in rushing yards per game last season.

This is also a tremendous matchup for Hayden. While there have been plenty of defensive changes for UNLV, this is still a team that ranked 105th in rushing yards allowed per game (177.43) and 130th in rushing yards allowed per attempt (5.22) last season.

Taeshaun Lyons Under 52.5 receiving yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐

With all the offensive turnover at UNLV, Lyons enters as the team's leading receiver from a year ago. However, he caught just 16 passes last season, finishing with only 241 yards. The only time he topped 40 yards in a game was when he caught a 72-yard touchdown against Hawaii.

Jackson Arnold is the UNLV starting quarterback, and last season with Auburn, he threw for more than 200 yards just three times. Arnold is a mobile quarterback who rushed at least 10 times in six of his 10 games. These rushes will take away from Lyons' production.

Marcus Stokes anytime touchdown scorer (+130) ⭐⭐⭐

Stokes is stepping up in competition after transferring from DII West Florida, but last season he scored 10 rushing touchdowns. In 12 games, he ran 82 times for 367 yards, averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

As I already discussed when explaining my support for Hayden, the UNLV rush defense was bad last season. They gave up 24 rushing touchdowns, which was tied for 98th in the country. Considering Memphis runs the type of offense that allowed its starting quarterback to lead the team with nine rushing touchdowns last season, I have high expectations for Stokes in this matchup.
